The papers are exaggerating the Muslim "crowd". There were about 20 of them, as opposed to hundreds of supporters. I'm sure the soldiers have experienced worse than a few people shouting at them and condemning them. Another non-story to sensationalise.

As for this topic, I am of mixed feelings. I strongly feel that these Muslim protestors should have kept it peaceful, various MP's said that they were swearing, and they probably were. That is not right, as a democratic country, fair enough, make you're point, but DON'T offend or intimidate people. They could have a protest obviously, but to be swearing, having all the signs, is wrong.

If this were a Muslim march on Gaza or something, and some English men were chanting, swearing in one corner, some Muslim's would be up in arms. Its good to hear that some Muslim's don't support this specific group who protested.

However, on GMTV this morning, there was an interview with the group leader. He said that they done this protest because British & American soldiers have killed innocent Iraqi's, and not helped them as the government says. I suppose he has a point, because a few years ago there was all of those photo's of the Iraqi people being mistreated. So from that point of view, its easy to see why the protesters done this.

Still though, most Iraqi's are in a better place now, theres more electricity, the women are less controlled, its far from great but its a lot better. I think these protestors need to have some respect that not all soldiers would intimidate the Iraqi people. They can have a protest yes, but don't offend people with signs and swearing.

Sorry for the rant, but I watch the news and I keep up to date with stuff like this, haha. :hugesmile:

Keeping calm is the point. A good interview is balanced and something like that challenging opinions. A good interview is not attempting to undermine the other person and basically having a go at them. She doesn't have a go at him, its clear of her viewpoint but it doesn't get in the way of the way the interview is done, she just challenges him on what he says. Some other interviewers might lose their temper, it happens on the news all the time, one example when the presenter on ITV News started laying into someone she was interviewing because of fuel increases.

But, Kate was best for the job out of Andrew and her. She worked on Sky News and BBC News before GMTV, shes a proper journalist and not a ex-tennis player like Andrew.

IMO, the new girl Emma would have been great for it, shes talented. Worked at Sky, NBC, BBC.

Back to the questions though, I'd of asked a lot more such as;

..he said something about 'Soldiers in Ireland die and theres thousands who protest, we protest and we get hated'
