I dont get it?

We have all lost someone to cancer, so why is the race a women exclusive race? :puzzled:

Because it was originally made to help deal with women cancers.

but surely, even if it was for women cancers, males would want to race in memory of people they have lost

I was talking about this not long ago, it annoys me to if men want to run and donate money to charity by getting sponsors like the women why not?

Limiting who they take money off by doing this.

I know but I guess they wanted to limit it to women. There's a Run for Moore race for men, random.

I think some of you just wish to complain for the sake of complaining. There are millions of charities. Geezus!

Its based around breast cancer, or it was when it first started anyway. Thats all there is to it really.

agree with tom and if you really want to do something there are plenty of other charity runs such as half marathons and so on or sponsor someone who is doing it or even just give a sum to the charity direct and i swear when i did it 2 yrs ago they were talking of doing some male races as well i'm doing it again this yr i shall find my race pack thing out and see what it says

I am sure if it really bothers you they would let you do it, they are not going out to upset males.

Just a sponsor a woman to run... I do that in work because Tesco is the official sponsor.

its pretty sexist to say "men can't raise money for this charity". They should be happy for any money they can get. Not be specific about who raises it

The race is not because of "fanny cancer" - get a grip.

I don't think there is a rule that its only for women.
But I now mostly women do it who are fighting, have fighted or are close to someone who has suffered breast cancer.

Have you considered a complaint to the ASA (http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/)?

My review is that it is a case of sexism which does not want male members to join. Even the logo is feminine.

No. Most of us don't have the time to bitch, moan, and complain like babies to places like Ofcom to air our grievances.

It would have helped if the Race for Life site had an email address we could ask this question to.

And people accuse me of sexism

For the record I have boycotted Yorkie bars because of their "It's not for Girls" slogan.

Why are you so worried about any of this? Don't you have a life or something?

It's not that important. I mean, now someone is complaining that the logo is too girly? What the hell does that mean?

To avoid hijacking this thread further, go here to discuss Yorkie bars (http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=109793&page=1#pid1795643)

Not really random, it's called that because of Bobby MOORE.

I said it was random because I had never heard of the male version before, so I decided to throw it in as a random fact.

I couldn't give a shxt who it was named after.

I think you probably should give a **** about the most inspirational sportsman in British history.

Some women got together and had a think about what would be the best way to make the race stand out from every other race that is out there and thus raise it's profile and the amount of people who take part and in turn raise more money. Have the complainers actually applide to race and been turned down?
