Well Done BBC
as so many missed it on FX
and had to buy the DVD box sets.
Word of Mouth about this
it's so good
and is one of the best because of the Writer of it.
10 out of 10.

It starts one March 30th and they're showing all 60 episodes with one being broadcast each night.
I think that may be a bit much for the viewer as the show plot is rather complex and, at times, a little difficult to follow but I'm still very excited about this.
The Wiki page for the Wire is one of the best around. Here's a LINK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_wire) if you want to take a look.

They're showing it from Season 1???
I'll have to watch the first episode online somewhere and then continue watching it on BBC2. Hope it's not on at 9 on sundays or mondays though, and not 10 on wednesday either.

I'm glad to see a few people watched it last night. I'm also amazed at the fact that the beeb didnt cut any of it. The F word, the MF word and the N word feature regularly in the script. Sometimes those words pepper the conversation.
Last nghts episode if viewed on its own is a little confusing but never the less very intruiging. The show takes about five episodes to get going, with the first four episodes doing a great deal of character development. Then the viewers start to get pay back for their patience. And when the payback finally comes it makes the show absolutely rivetting - I found it hard to watch the first few shows but by the time I got to episode 7 or 8 I was watching them one after another.
Keep watching and when the show gets going I'm sure you'll all enjoy it.
For those that missed it, heres a synopsis of the first episode of the Wire - The Target (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Target_(The_Wire_episode))

Thats why they show it at 11:20PM
so it does not get cut, so far.
I think that is the appeal
such a poor area in America
and one cop that keeps doing it his way
and makes others angry with him.
That was the First episode last night.
Asda Walmart
and Tesco
are selling both box sets
of the Wire
for those that can not stay up that late.

The first ep is a great scene setter for the show. I like the slow pace and the heavy street dialogue. It takes a few episodes to get used and the understand the way the gangsters talk. The police too but less so.

Yes Great
Writer got that area right.
I am sure you know,
It was on FXChannel -Sky
and VirginMedia - but Virgin took FX off in the middle of a contract
then said upgrade(pay more) if you want it.
That is a Nasty Company.

Very good episode. It had a lot of character devlopment for Prez, Herc and Carver - The three cops who tried to bust heads at the tower block. There was the first signs that D'Angelo hates the violence involved in the drug trade and we got to see that the drug king pin is a normal bloke and not a complete scumbag like in most shows.

It's starting to get going. Omar is here. Omar is the best character in the show and most peoples favourite.
Last nights episode had more character development. Each character slowly being built bit by bit.
Last nights episode contained the famous speech where D'Angelo compared the hierarchy in the drug world to Chess.

Last nights episode was the final character development episode. We find out that Lester Freamon is 'natural police' and an expert investigator . The show starts to pay the viewer back from tonights episode.
The scene where the Barksdale crew are playing basketball, talking about catching Omar and discussing his homosexuality always cracks me up. The line 'He's got a lot of heart for a c*cksucker' does me everytime.
The scene where Bunk and Jimmy scope out the Diedre Kressen murder scene is a classic. They manage to work out exactly how the murder took place while only communicating using various F' words. A great scene.
