As electropop explodes on to the airwaves this year, perhaps the most exciting and promising artist to emerge from this genre is Frankmusik. He's been described in the past as "Mika on acid" and "a fitter, more talented Sam Sparro" and has already released two singles and an EP. His album, Complete Me, drops later this month and he, amongst the plethra of names including VV Brown, Little Boots and Thecocknbullkid, has been tipped for huge things in 2009.

Frankmusik has been announced as the main support act for two of the Pet Shop Boys' upcoming arena dates.

The Croydon-born singer will open shows at Manchester Apollo and London's O2 arena on June 18 and June 19 respectively.

The star, who is preparing to embark on the world's first interactive tour next week, has previously remixed a song for the legendary duo.

"I've just done a remix for the Pet Shop Boys which was amazing," he told DS.

"That was a really, really awesome opportunity to be given. A real privilege."

Frankmusik releases 'Better Off As 2' on April 13.

That worried me too, he's clearly going to be huge. Well not worried me as such.

I forgot to mention he is currently on the world's first ever Interactive tour with mySpace and C4. Basically he'll be dumped in the middle of nowhere with £20 and you can email in asking him to play ANYWHERE, for a party or like even in your living room. The money he gets from these gigs should get him across the country to the final destination.

The whole journey will then be shown on C4 in April.

Cheryl Cole's solo album will be part-produced by electropop newcomer Frankmusik, it has been confirmed.

The singer, who has already been linked to R&B production duo Soulpower, will commence work on the record after completing her 'Out Of Control' tour with Girls Aloud.

Writing on his Twitter blog, Frankmusik said: "I am producing Cheryl Cole's new album!"

The 23-year-old star, who released his debut single 'Better Off As 2' earlier this month, has previously remixed songs for Pet Shop Boys, Keane and Alphabeat.

Girls Aloud's spokesman recently confirmed that Cole's management had contacted a number of different producers for the star's debut solo offering.

Sounds great! Makes me more optimistic about Cheryl's solo career.

The album, Complete Me is being released August 3rd and a deluxe edition is being released too which features a sixty minute megamix of remixes of every track on the album, mixed by Frankmusik himself called 'Re-complete Me'.
