Ear Stretching

Anyone else think thats gross? For those who have no idea what it is its basically where people stretch piercing holes in their ear until they can fit silly sized earrings in and things ... a bit like this pic

I don't get it at all, they're very ugly I find. Stick to normal earrings or none at all I say.

Yeh i know someone that can put their thumb through it.

Its really weird everything me n my mates talk about like a week later it seems to end up being said on here, we were talking about how it doesnt look good n that friday.

Generally I dislike them, but some guys can look real hot with them.
I couldn't date one though, I'd be constantly putting my finger through the hole and cringing.

Alot of my friends have it done so it doesn't bother me, it weirded me out at first, but now I'm not bothered... if they wanna do it, let them.

Someone from when I was at sixth form / school had it done about 2x the size of the OP pic. Was gruesome, but obviously he was happy with it. It's our bodies, we can do what we like to them.

Not for me, though.

He puts small cones in 'em to stretch and they bleed because he stretches them too quick :yuk:

He thinks it's cool to have them CD sized and stuff :yuk:

The same reason you get your nose pierced, or your ears pierced, or a tattoo. Its fashion in the rock world, you follow fashions, everyone does.

cos some people like the more extreme body mods this is the tamer end of them really but i wouldnt do it cos the risk of splitting your lobe is very high plus apprantly the stretched holes can half smell
but as i say this is really mild compared to some things -scarifications for example

I know a lot of people who have it done, and fair play to them.. it's their choice.. but personally speaking, I think it looks hideous.

Yeah true, but the fashions that the majority of people follow aren't permanent. Piercings, again, never really understood the point, but at least the hole closes over if you don't actually make use of it. With ear stretching it's just really dumb I think? Same with tattoos - anything permanent (though you can remove tattoos expensively and painfully) will look dumb when you are older, that's how I see things...

thing is a lot of things like body mods people follow cos their mates do or its the done thing in their chosen 'scene' then there are there other people who choose to have things like tattoos piercings or whatever because they like them see them as a art form with their body as the canvas i'm proud of my tattoos and piercings but i can bet half the kids that were getting pierced saturday when i was there getting tattooed soon remove them when the next big 'craze' comes along

as has been said same reason people get tattoos other piercings and so on its personal preference
i think it looks cool but like i say i wouldnt get it done but then my body hates healing normal piercings so i think it would have a meltdown if i tried this
