This thread is for general discussion and updates on TiBB Apprentice 2.

Our team is well gunna win :hugesmile::tongue::thumbs:
Task #1
The contestants have been set a simple first task to start them off. Each team must name themselves (this name will stick with them throughout the show), and create a logo, banner and avatar to represent their team. They must also write a short paragraph describing their ideas.
The teams are as follows:
Team One

» Snig
» Tom
Team Two
» Caitlin
» Conor
» Kate
» Sam
» Shaun
The teams work on all their tasks in secret subforums,
The teams have until Friday at 6pm to complete the task. The results will be posted in Friday night's live show, postponed due to a delay with the subforums, during which you (the forum public) will vote for your preferred identity.
One member of the losing team will then be fired.

It will roughly work like this:
The show begins at 8pm. In the first half hour, the work will be showcased, and the forum will be invited to vote. The voting will be open until 9pm.
Then, at 9pm, the voting will close and a judge will post his or her opinions on each team's work.
The results of the public vote will be announced at roughly 9.15pm, and the losing team will then face the first firing.

Task #1: Kate fired
Kate has become the first candidate to be fired from TiBB Apprentice 2.
The forum public voted for which team - The Oinks or Team Fetch - they wanted to win, and The Oinks won with 62% of the vote.
This meant that Team Fetch faced the first firing, and their team leader Shaun chose Kate and Conor to go to the boardroom with him.
James then decided to fire Kate as she had not helped at all with the first task.
The teams' discussions for this task can now be viewed in the main Apprentice forum, and the second task will begin tomorrow.
The search for the Apprentice continues...

Task #2
It's back to work for the TiBB Apprentice contestants as they face their second task.
For the challenge, the two teams will become ad agencies. They must each create:
- A TV, online or press advert
- A promotional blurb advertising TiBB
They will then have to pitch their adverts to James, who will pick the team that he thinks did the best. The other team will face the second firing on Monday.
The team leaders for this task are...
- Team One (Oinks!): Loukas
- Team Two (Team Fetch): Conor
Task #2: Live Firing - Monday @ 8pm
The TiBB Apprentice ad agencies are working away, creating their adverts for TiBB.
They're nearing the end of the task, so now is a good time to remind you to join us for the next live firing in just over a days' time, when they'll pitch their adverts to James.
The results will be revealed on...

Task #2: Conor fired
Conor has become the second candidate to be fired from TiBB Apprentice 2.
After explaining his thoughts on the two teams' adverts, James ultimately decided that the Oinks' advert was better, meaning they had won the task.
Team Fetch didn't take the decision that well, as Conor was forced to nominate Caitlin and Shaun to take to the boardroom.
James then opted to fire Conor.
The teams' discussions for this task will be available in the main Apprentice forum soon.
The third task begins tonight - and the teams will have to work doubly hard on this one, as two people will leave in the next firing...
The search for the Apprentice continues...
Task #3: Who's moved teams?
You may have noticed that there's an imbalance in numbers, with three candidates left in Team Fetch against the Oinks' five members.
Well, to address that, Sia will be moving teams for task 3.

Aw, I'm sorry Sia, but it was a tough decision to make... I'm sure that everyone in your team loved being in your team and would have been sad to go, but it wouldn't have been fair on Team Fetch if I hadn't moved one of you :(

Task three has begun, and it involves both teams planning their own forum games.
They have until Friday at 5pm to plan, advertise, and get as many applicants as they can for their game.
The team leaders for this task are:

It's okay... bit harsh to throw me into another team and THEN make me team leader as I didn't know how they worked together but oh well, I'm enjoying it now, and I'm trying reeeeally hard :)
Task #3: DOUBLE firing tonight!
Last night, it was revealed that Team Fetch have lost Task 3 after their game got only one less valid application than the Oinks'.
Make sure you're here at 7pm, when two Fetch members get the boot...

Task #3: Caitlin and Shaun fired
Sadly, Shaun and Caitlin have become the third and fourth candidates to be fired from TiBB Apprentice 2.
During last night's 'show', James fired the twosome, saying that Shaun hadn't been online enough during Task 3, and that Caitlin had done slightly less work than Sia.
Each teams' discussions for Task 3 will be available in the main Apprentice forum soon.
Details regarding the fourth task will be posted soon...
Task #4
For the fourth task, the teams will be taking advantage of the recent popularity of the Creative Writing forum as they write their own stories involving TiBB members.
For this task, Loukas has moved to Team Fetch.
Once they have elected leaders, the teams will take it in turns to pick characters for their story from a list of TiBB Members. The team leaders will be asked a general knowledge question, and the first leader to reply with the correct answer will win their team the right to choose first.
Once they have their characters, the teams will write short stories - maximum 1,500 words - involving their six characters.
A panel of judges will choose the winner.

Task #4: Team leaders and story casts
The two teams have picked their team leaders and story casts for the fourth task.
The team leaders are Nicky (Oinks! and Sam (Team Fetch).
After being elected, they were asked a general knowledge question, and the first person to respond correctly won the right to choose first from the list of characters. Sam earned this right.
They then took it in turns to choose members to be characters for their teams' stories from the list of 12 that volunteered last night. The casts are...
Oinks!: .Andy., Dezzy, Fom, Madonna, TomRocksUrSocks, Twilight
Team Fetch: Billy, bronaaaa, Firewire, Princess, Ross, WATERS
The teams will now get to work on their stories. Stay tuned...

Task #4: Two people to get the boot...
It's the news that none of our candidates wanted to hear, but alas, it's true - another TWO of them will be fired on Tuesday.
This will leave four people behind for the final task.

Task #4: Teams' stories up
Both teams have now posted the first parts of their two stories.
They are:

The second parts of both stories will be posted in their respective threads at around 9pm this evening.
Task #4: Loukas and Sam fired
The fifth and sixth candidates to be fired from TiBB Apprentice 2 are Loukas and Sam.
After Team Fetch lost task 4, James was finding it tough choosing who to fire because Fetch had not used their subforum as much during the task.
After opting to fire Loukas, he 'flipped a coin' to decide between Sia and Sam, before Sam was also sent packing.
For the fifth task, the teams will become 'political' parties as they compete in the Moderator Elections.
The search for the Apprentice continues...
Task #5: Moderator Elections

It's boys vs. girls for the final task, which will see the two teams become The Oinks Party and The Fetch Party to compete in TiBB's inaugural moderator elections.
Each team has to come up with five 'policies' - rules or ideas that they'd enforce or implement as moderators. They must then write a maximum 1,000 word speech addressing you, the TiBB members.
On Thursday night, the two speeches will be posted anonymously and the members will be able to vote for the team that they prefer based on their policies.
Voting will close and the results will be revealed during Friday night's final live firing, when one member of the losing team will become the last firee of the series...
Task #5: Moderator Elections begin!
The Moderator Elections begun tonight, with both The Oinks Party and The Fetch Party revealing their policies.
However, nobody will know which policies belong to which party until tomorrow night's firing.
Party One's pledges include creating a 16+ forum, banning negative posts from appreciation threads whilst opening a new section for unappreciation threads, and having a three day 'validation period' for new members.
Meanwhile, Party Two's policies include assigning moderators to specific sections of the forum, 'stopping problems before they occur' and better spelling and grammar checking.

But you didn't make yours Tom. Matt did :tongue:. At least Nicky made theirs. It may not be as 'fetch' as the original logo but its cool. :tongue:

To clarify, the following was a rule in the task:
1. Teams ARE allowed to enlist the help of everyone except the other team to help with their graphics.
Therefore, the Oinks have nothing to feel guilty about.
I like Fetch's graphics too though, Nicky used some nice colours :bigsmile:

Task #5: Snig fired
Snig has become the seventh person - and the second Oink - to be fired from TiBB Apprentice 2009.
Team Fetch won the Moderator Elections task, however it was rules that due to the anonymity of the task being blown, all candidates would face the firing.
However, James chose to save Fetch members Nicky and Sia, and then decided after looking over past tasks that Snig was to go, saving his teammate Tom.
The candidates are now working alone for their final simple task - a job interview.
