Hello, and welcome to the first live firing of TiBB Apprentice.

It's only been a matter of days since you met the ten new candidates who are taking on the challenge of TiBB's toughest job interview. The group were immediately split in to two teams, for the first task.

The teams are:

Team One
Leader: Snig
Loukas, Nickyy, Sia, Tom

Team Two
Leader: Shaun
Caitlin, Conor, Kate, Sam

For their first task, the teams had to create an identity for themselves.

They each came up with a team name and a logo, banner and avatar to represent their team. They also had to describe the idea or concept behind their identity.

In a minute, you will be shown the two teams' efforts, and you will then be invited to vote for your favourite.

In the second part of the show at 9pm, a judge will pass their comments on the two teams' designs, and the results of your vote will be revealed. The losing team will then face the first firing.

Team Oinks. We don't play dirty. The name "Oinks" was chosen for a variety of reasons. Firstly; each initial comprises of a member of the group. Secondly, the pig connotations represent each individual personality of the diverse group. Pigs, contrary to popular belief, are clean animals which are insightful and thought to have intelligence beyond the average 3 year old. They are loyal, friendly animals and have a high cognative ability. For each aspect, a member of the groups personality clearly shines through. Nicky demonstrates the loyalty and friendliness, Loukas; for who has an abundance of insightful thoughts, Sam for his high ability and intelligence, Sia for her strong minded attitude but loveable personality ... and Tom, because he is just a bit smarter than a 3 year old. Our aim was to create a team identity, memorable and unique. We hope that you like it.

I've reviewed both teams identities and I just want to say I believe both teams have put in a lot of effort (especially those included in the designing aspect of the project) - but my job is to only pick one. In terms of deciding on graphics, I'd have to go with 'Oinks!' because I feel that on a whole, they're graphics really speak about their identity and it's something I haven't seen before - where as with the 'Fetch' team, you've included the whole 'Mean Girls' theme - which wouldn't be entirely safe because only people who've seen the film would know what's going on - but as this is only TiBB, you played it smart. As an idea though, I do feel like team 'Fetch' is a greater representation of a group of people.

The team I believe were the best are Team Fetch!

In terms of deciding on graphics, I'd have to go with 'Oinks!' because I feel that on a whole, they're graphics really speak about their identity and it's something I haven't seen before - where as with the 'Fetch' team, you've included the whole 'Mean Girls' theme - which wouldn't be entirely safe because only people who've seen the film would know what's going on - but as this is only TiBB, you played it smart. As an idea though, I do feel like team 'Fetch' is a greater representation of a group of people.

The team I believe were the best are Team Fetch!

First I'll start with your identity. I really like the creativity you put into thinking of true characteristics of pigs and applying them to each of your team members. It was a creative idea even though the name was a bit of a stretch by pulling out random letters from each's name; however, you still made it work with that as well!

Next thing, design. The grungy texture overlayed onto the logo does take away from it's professionalism; I think a solid color would've been a much better choice for the "Oinks!" I do find your incoporation of a pig's face onto the capital O quite unique.
Your avatar looks a bit misplaced, considering the top of the poor pig's head is chopped off and is just nowhere! I do like your logo overall as well as your banner, but I think the grunginess of your banner doens't fit too well with your slogan ("We don't play dirty")

Overall, I quite enjoy your unique team identity, meaning, and design. Well done, Oinks!

Team Fetch
I actually enjoy your brand design and your use of incorporating it with Mean Girls. Your team description is quite good and I like your use of quotes and such.

Your logo is classy, your banner is hilarious, and your avatar is quite nice; however, I don't think that someone who hasn't seen Mean Girls will understand the team's perspective, and even the 3D image of Mean Girls in the background is a bit too blurry to distinguish unless you know of The Plastics. I love the team incorporation into the word FETCH and how a quality is attributed to each member of the team.


Overall, I believe that Team Fetch's design looks a lot more professional with fancier graphics; however, I think the identity of 'Oinks!' was much more well planned and includes a great slogan with a great idea.

My vote goes to Oinks!

my second choice is a lot more difficult, as all 3 team-members put in a lot of effort and creativity into the team, and none of them deserve to be fired. However, I have to choose, and my choice is Conor. Sam! put great work into producing all of the graphics, and Nina contributed a lot more ideas than Conor did, I feel. Ooh, a chance to big myself up? I like it.

Right, well. As the leader of the task I feel that I put in a fair amount of effort and creativity into this challenge. I came up with the team name, half of the description with Conor, and stepped up to the plate of project managing. I also produced a (albeit poor) logo for the team, before we went with Sam's far superior design. I think that I have a lot more to offer in future challenges - and that whilst graphics design isn't my strong point given that my software is limited to MS Paint, I have a lot more to offer.
