School, I came home and mum and dad called me in to the living room and it was aloo over the news.
I remember we had to say I prayer in class but I can't remember if that was the day it happened or the next

At school, teacher said there have been a few plane crashes but didn't really have any idea ... that was about 10 minutes before we went home then got home and the news was on

I had fishfingers and chips for tea that night :cheer2:

It's weird how you remember silly details like that isn't it?

I was only 5 years old LOL, I remember it well. I was watching a James and the Giant Peach video and my mum came running in (at about 5pm) and said that the Twin Towers had collapsed and that thousands of people would have died. At the time I really didn't know what that meant, so I wasn't particularly concerned.

I was at working at a stockbrokers, in the front office.... the markets when mad

It was so strange watching the markets fall and then people started to buy on the back of such a tragic time.

We had loads of people contact us the next day to try and cancel their deals because they felt bad making money from the situation

It was surreal watching it on tv I think. There was a sense of 'this isn't happening'.

I was 10 at the time or 9, not sure now. I was having tea when it came on the news.

It was my brother's birthday and I remember coming home from school being all excited about going out for dinner. My parent's tried to explain what had happened and how it would be disrespectful to go out,I didn't really understand it.

Yep, it is weird how you can remember daft details

And there was a real sense of 'this isn't happening' when BBC News announced that one of the towers had collapsed when it was still standing on the screen behind them :joker:

... but nout to laugh about when it did eventually collapse ... anyone would think it was a conspiracy :whistle:

I was at school in america. I remember so much about it.
I remember that about 30 people were told to pack their packs for early dismissal ( They used to have an intercom in ever single room and hallway in my school ) so yeh. I didnt actually feel good that day so I asked the teacher if I could go to the nurse. She let me go and when I was in the office I saw loads of parents like waiting to get thier child home. Then when my dad came to pick me up he told me something really bad had happened but I had to wait untill i was in the car to be told it cause there were kids around.

So yeh thats it really x

Oh yeh. The school got closed so everyone went home early x

There is a new building in construction on the site of where the Twin Towers collapsed in 2001. It is called the Freedom Tower and it is supposedly going to be completed in 2013. It is going to have 108 floors, with a top floor height of 415m (1,362ft), a roof height of 417m (1,368ft) and a full height (including spire) of 541.3m (1,776ft). This is quite a similar height to the Twin Towers (I am pretty sure it is bigger than the Twin Towers actually). I think this will just be another target for terrorists (if they did 9/11 at all). The exact same thing could happen again, aeroplanes could easily hit that and kill thousands of people.

Yeah, I love them too. I still watch all of the documentaries on YouTube to this day (even though some of them are a couple of hours long).:blush2:

I believe it was the American government that did it, I don't have the time to go into why because it would take me hours.

Also theres two huge memorial waterfalls in the place of the towers:

http://www.national911memorial.org/img/memorial/aerial1.jpg
THE MEMORIAL will remember and honor the nearly three thousand people who died in the horrific attacks of February 26, 1993, and September 11, 2001. The Memorial will consist of two massive pools set within the footprints of the Twin Towers with the largest manmade waterfalls in the country cascading down their sides. They will be a powerful reminder of the Twin Towers and of the unprecedented loss of life from an attack on our soil.

The names of the nearly 3,000 individuals who were killed in the September 11 attacks in New York City, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon, and the February 1993 World Trade Center bombing will be inscribed around the edges of the Memorial pools.

The Memorial pools will each be nearly one acre in size. The names of the victims will be inscribed on parapets surrounding the pools, within groupings that will allow for family members, friends, and co-workers who shared life’s journey and perished together to have their names listed side by side.

An eight-acre landscaped Memorial Plaza filled with nearly 400 trees will create a contemplative space separate from the sights and sounds of the surrounding city.

OMG that scared me SHITLESS I was so scared and I still am. I have proved that this is totally true because on our desktop we had to get Microsoft Word 2000 (before 9/11) and when you type in the post code of the Twin Towers it comes up with a plane crashing into two towers). That was before 9/11 happened!

When the dates added up to 9/11 that was properly weird too! I think the video that you are talking about is this one:

Walking out of school I saw loads of people in classrooms gathered around television sets - I didn't bat an eyelid, so I got into my mum's car and it was on the radio, and I got home just in time to see the towers collapse. I have goosebumps thinking about it :\

i had just finished school. (i was about 15 i think) i walked home as i usually do staring up at the sky wondering what to do about somthing or other i cant really remember.

I got home turned the tv on and i saw ait and thought it was just some movie. so i turned the channel over and over again and it was on every channel and i was like OMG WTF??. then my mum, dad, brothers and sisters came home and we all watched the TV. and thats it really the rest is history so they say.

If you were in the UK that wouldn't be possible because of the time difference, so i'm guessing that your American then?

As for me, i came home from school and went to my Gran's house, she had the news on the kitchen then, i went over to my friends and traded Pokémon Cards.

At the time i was working nights driving, but before these events i started work at around 3am and came home after work at around 1pm ish i think.
I sat down and put the tv on, flicked through the channels and when i hit sky news it was showing a building with black smoke coming out of it, at the time it was reporting a light air craft had hit the building but nothing about a terror attack.
Well i was hooked! I was tired but had to watch the news as changing news channels, flickin from one to another..
Then as the live pictures was fixed on the two towers a plane that looked tiny flew into the second tower.. Then it became clear that this was a terror attack, then reports about other attacks came through and it felt like some war has broken out in america!
Sky news was showing american news as they had live pictures on the streets, even one female reporter broke down as people were jumping from the towers..
Then even more twists as one of the towers came down as people were running for cover from the thick grey smoke covering all the streets, again all on tv for the world to see.
