Does anyone else agree??

I just think that it will build such a huge hype about the show!!

just eye flashes here and there for 3 weeks in April,

then longer adverts 6 seconds or so the 3 weeks after that,

then the last three weeks before the show it could be the longer house adverts!!:colour:

No.
About 3 weeks of proper advertising is enough and will work well if there is a new style of adverts

It's only March! Well nearly April. They should start mid May.

Shows start at the beginning of June don't they? So that'll be about 3 weeks-which is plenty.

Usually Juneish though. I think 3 weeks it like the most advertising they should do-they don't want to make people sick of it. *shrugs*

I think it's way too early to start thinking about that kind of thing now. I think they should start advertising end of April/beginning of May, that'll give them about a month.

I really hope they first advertise when BGT is on (yes on ITV) most probably on the final when most people are watching.

If they started to advertise now then people would get sick and tired of BB adverts popping up every 30 minutes for 2 months. If Channel 4 felt that there was a real need to build up the BB hype early this year then they would start advertising in the early parts of May (possibly with eye flashes starting from the 5th to the 15th of May?).

The advertising campaign has to be excellent this year and that means a few short, slick and effective adverts before the launch. The adverts would ideally start on the night of 2 weeks before launch and go straight into a countdown style theme of 14 days, 13 days, 12 days, etc.

If they start that earlier, the ads will loose they're punch and people will forget.

No it is too early, Early - Mid may will be fine.

The hype has begun already....but it wud be overkill to start the advertising now.

A successful ad campaign isnt neccessarily a long one. If a programme is over-exposed in the adverts, people will be sick of it before its even launched.

Loads of advertising has NO effect, if anything it has a negative effect

Rock Rivals anyone? Demons?

Way to early - 3 to 4 weeks is best, but it's got to be a completely new campaign - though of course we all know it'll be same old same old with C4 thinking if they show us a logo people will watch.

I agree that advertising too early makes people want to stay away from the show. Look at Britania High, that was soo over advertised, there were billboards months before it started, and i guess it just made people aware to stay away from the TV at that time... it flopped badly!

No! If you over do it people will get annoyed and not watch because of the obvious desperation.

Three weeks of normal advertising or two weeks of intense advertising is the limit.

Maybe bring back the billboards and radio ads though.

Two weeks before launch date is enough, over do it and people will get bored..

Also be better if 02 came back, any news on that or is it still that flippin bed company?

I hope to god they change the adverts this year. Im getting bored of eye flashes, countdowns and house adverts. Last year was a bit different, with the musical ads, but this year, I think they need to take a leaf out of Conor's book:thumbs:

i love the advertising how it is, the show USUALLY starts mid to end of may so the first week of may is a good time for the start of ads :bouncy:

It's a bug/glitch that randomly occurs when posting something, dunno hwo it works, but it's not on purpose.

Btw, as far as I can remember, they won't start the real hype until the Offical site goes into "holding page" and they won't reveal the eye, after the eye gets revealed, then we'll start to see the ads. then the site goes up, and we have a countdown for the launch.. so pretty.
