It's been nearly a week since the game started, and now we're really getting in to the swing of things. On Friday night, Kate became the first candidate to be fired, having not put any input in to the first task!

Tonight, a second person will be fired. But first, it's time for the results of Task 2.

Over the past few days, the two teams have been faced with the challenge of creating adverts for ThisisBigBrother.com.

They each had to create a main advert. They had four formats to choose from for this ad: a 15 second 'TV' advert, a 728x90 or 300x250 online ad, or a 435x610px 'press' ad.

No matter what format they chose, the two teams were banned from using Big Brother promotional pictures, logos, logo templates or the Channel 4 font. Also, TV adverts could not include commercial music.

In addition to this, they also had to write a promotional blurb for TiBB, no more than 150 words long.

Finally, they had to write a pitch to James, explaining their adverts and why they think he should choose them.

Their pitch to James:
Team Oinks has asked ourselves, why exactly do we go on to TiBB? The conclusion was that the forum is so interactive and gives you the chance to be in the discussion and be in many different games, be it from lynching werewolves, being in a clique, battling against the opposite sex or even being the mole.

As a consequence we created a banner which screams "Don't watch it. Be in it". Simple and to the point, this banner matches the main TiBB Theme. Using both an interesting font and a colour scheme to match the well-known colours it could easily be used on any part of the forum.

So, James; in this task we've questioned why people would come to this forum, and we've taking advantage of it to its maximum potential: If that doesn't bring crowds on new members, Nothing will.

James will pick the winning team. He has been asked to choose that team based on the adverts that he thinks sells TiBB the best/that would bring TiBB in the most new members. He will also take into account the pitch he thinks is most convincing.

The team behind the adverts he prefers will win the task. The losers will then face tonight's firing.

Okay, I think there are aspects of both teams presentations that I like best...

In terms of the advert - and how effective it is likely to be - I think the banner is probably more versatile than the video. A banner can have different applications such being placed in a sig on forums or used as a website banner in an ad campaign.

Although Team Fetch are to be commended for going to the trouble of filming a video.

Next post I'll say something about blurbs... sorry about the site slowing at the moment btw...

In terms of the blurbs I think I like Team Fetch's best. It mentions other reality shows and we have been trying - and hopefully will be doing more in the future - to open the site and forum up more to discussing other reality shows rather than just being Big Brother based.

I think that promotion would be more likely to attract new members than a promotion based around the forum games. Forum games are more likely to keep people who have joined during BB, on the site during the off-season rather than attract many new members in my opinion.

So I'm 50-50 here. In terms of effectiviness (getting more interest in the forum, and new members) I think Team 1's banner is best but Team 2's blurb is best.

Now I have to choose the winner...

I think Tom saved us on this task because we almost went for video, but it was his suggestion that it was easy for a banner to click through to other websites.

I know this is the second time I've been in the board room now, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. This task, I've again come up with a lot of the creative element, and although I haven't actually put that into practice with our amazing video, I did contribute to the video and also provided the blurb, and edited the pitch. The banner won it for us. Tom persuaded us to a banner. Had things gone the other way we would have probably lost.

Me and Sia spent a lot of time working on the pitch and description and Nicky did the banner.

Loukas came up with our concept, and I don't think anyone did any less work than anyone.

I think the problem was that the team leader decided right at the start that a video would be made and the other options weren't considered,

And the other two team members came up with the blurb also which I think was the best blurb.
