This Was An Idea From Gazbo Not So Long Ago Thought i should Carry it on Since it seemed A good Idea at the Time. If you are interested in signing up to take part in the debates as a debater or/and a judge, just reply to this thread. However, if you have any questions, U2U me.

Members who can be trusted to judge debates fairly, thoughtfully and without bias will be allowed to do so.





Tibb Debate League Rules

1. Express your opinion in an interesting well thought out way and allow others to do the same.
2. No flaming or insulting your opponents.
3. There is to be no use of quoting during any stage of a debate.
4. Arguments should be submitted punctually.

Structure

Individual Debates: These Debates Will Be 1 on 1's The Individual Debates Last For 3 Days. these type of debates Are Judged By 3 Judges Who Will Mark the debates Out Of 10.

Elimination Debates: We start out with six participants. The primary judge picks a topic (lets say "Best Song Of 05" as an example)
The judges will not only choose who had the best argument, but will rank the six arguments in terms of quality. Whoever was ranked sixth is eliminated.

At this point, the next round begins. A new topic is introduced (lets say "Most Over rated Artist" for example). The five remaining participants each select a Artist to represent.

Once all five remaining participants have chosen their Artists to represent, the process starts again. They each write out their argument stating their case These arguments are once again judged and ranked and the person who comes last is eliminated.

This process continues until there are only two participants left. These two participants repeat the same process,
Whoever wins that final round wins the entire "Elimination Challenge".

Maybe people aren't happy to be judged on their debating skills by "judges" about whom they know nothing. What's your criteria for being a judge? What's more, this this thread is entitled "serious debates" and your first issue is "Take That - better with or without Robbie". Serious debates? Really?
