Welcome to the third firing of TiBB Does The Apprentice 2009.

It's been a rocky ride this week, as both teams completed their third task - to come up with an idea for a new forum game.

Applications were open to forum members earlier this week, and the team that got the most applications won the task.

Tension is rising....
I think I'll go out on the trampoline and wait for the results.

Last night, it was revealed that the Oinks won the task, recieving 12 valid applications, meaning that Team Fetch lost, despite them getting only one less than the Oinks.

This means that Team Fetch now face tonights' firing.

Nicky.

I still can't believe how close it was, and yet we still won!

Madness!

It's time to get down to business. Sia, the leader of Team Fetch, is not online tonight, but she did inform me of the two team members that she wishes to take to the boardroom with her after last night's task result.

The first is Shaun. She said:

"Picto, for obvious reasons, never, ever contributed to our task. I know this was no fault of his own, but his lack of contribution made it much harder on us as a team of three. Obviously this was only one task, but in the other tasks for example, he lost. His overall performances on all the tasks has been lower."

Erm...so who's fired?
I CAN'T BARE THE TENSION!!!

Matt

Her second nominee is Caitlin. Sia said:

"Ninastar was a helpful member and overall much better at contribution than Shaun, but compared to Sam and I her effort was significantly lower. I do not feel she understood our task even when I attempted to explain it to her. I felt she should have kept better informed about the task than ask some questions which had already been stated various times (for example, it took her a while to grasp that our thread was based on 'magic' and still tried to come up with irrelevant ideas by that point) I delegated tasks to her which did not require photoshop so we could all contribute to the task equally, but she did not manage to complete these effectively and couldn't use initiative without Sam or my help (particularly noted in our arrangement of Round 4 when deciding pictures). She was kind and complimentary, but she did not take anything into her own hands and when she did she was very hesitant."

Shaun

Overall performances on all of the tasks? :conf2: I put in loads of effort when I was online and able to, and even came up with the plans for the Buzzcocks game before it was cancelled and I went offline.

Ah well, I'm beyond caring. I put in loads of effort and it turned out to be for nothing - I hope I'm fired.

Nicky.

Now, the nominees have until 7.32pm to post their reasons as to why James should save them.

Sia asked me to post this on her behalf:

When I originally applied for the Apprentice I explicitly stated I was "clumsy, messy and disorganized" - basically, I was a bit of a scatterbrain. However, in this task I was far from it: I consistently organised my team and delegated each member certain positions which would play to their strengths: and through this we could work as a team and support each-other. My messiness was proved wrong as well: my graphical skills which I used for this task were consistently precise on how not only I wanted it but how my team wished for it to be: so all together we worked and made a game which we were all proud of.
And clumsiness I suppose doesn't really come into this, as even though our team lost - fell flat on our face, even - each detail was precise and planned. I suppose I've surprised myself in this task, but it has given me one thing, as well as overcoming a few factors: motivation. In this task I said that I didn't believe I'd win the apprentice, but have fun trying. But this task has given me more confidence in myself. I still don't necessarily think I'll win, but in a way, this task has showed I do actually have potential, and I really don't believe it's my time to go. I'm also having SO much fun doing this, it's even more fun than watching a documentary on jellyfish - and you know how much I enjoy that.
Throughout each task I've kept a consistently helpful and happy demeanor and have performed in many different areas: english language tasks in the Oinks challenges from speech to brief writing, constructive criticism, moving from one successful team to another - and then becoming team leader, graphical skills, and many more. I suppose I could add a generic line about how much I've learnt, how it will never happen again, etc etc. But I won't. Because, though we lost, I wouldn't change a thing (well, I'd make sure we'd win this time...)
I believe I played an integral role in my team.

Whilst I understand that I'm most likely to be fired given my inability to be online this week - the time that I was online for the task was spent coming up with and planning our original game plan, Never Mind the Buzzcocks. For the next 2 and a half days my internet messed up, leaving me unable to participate in the task.
As the original leader and brainwave of Team Fetch I feel that I have the forum against me and that perhaps the idea wasn't brilliant. I can poke a million holes in the problems with the games and results so far, but ultimately the responsibility for the team's failure so far comes down to me. I refuse to recognise that Team Fetch deserved to lose all three tasks, particularly this one. But this task was stupid, all it really tested was how many friends on MSN we can convince to apply.
If you WERE to save me, however, it would be because I am a hard-working, motivated and creative team-member, and have given 100% in each task so far. My writing skills shown in various advertisement/promotional pieces so far have received praise from you, yourself, James, and I've contributed many (often successful) ideas to the team.
The only thing against me this week was something out of my control, so to fire me for that reason would be unfair, especially looking at previous weeks' performance.

Thank you nominees.

Well, the waiting is over - it's time for James to reveal which two of the three candidates he has chosen to fire.

Thank you James.

So, Shaun and Caitlin have become the next two candidates to be axed from TiBB Apprentice.

The next task will involve the teams getting their writing heads on, as they pen new stories for the Creative Writing section of the forum involving TiBB members.

If you want to be a character in one of the teams' stories, stay tuned.

The search for the Apprentice continues...

...goodnight!

Nicky.
