I am downloading a film using uTorrent.
It says that the download time to take is 3 days?
Is that right?
I started to download a few minutes ago. It is currently 0% complete. Although it is downloading as the download time is running.

between 10pm and 4am is when you get the faster download speeds because the seeders are are all online in America!!
at home here i get about 200k/bs were as in glasgow it's nearer 500k/bs

Dowload it. Search for a torrent online. And it will automatically download in uTorrent. But it might probably take ages.

Films usually take about a day to download, just a bit less than a day. Leave your computer on over night and it will be done in the morning, it speeds up and slows down at different times.

OK.
But I wanted to watch it today. lol
It also goes faster if you're not doing anything on it whilst its downloading, thats why it normally completes overnight.

I usually get between 10-50 kB/s for movies from piratebay. Your actually downloading from 40 or 50 other computers across the internet, it's not all downloading from one site so depends on how many other users have the file. Make sure, if you using utorrent, that you have the little green tick down at the bottom of the utorrent screen... it means your network is ok and you setup utorrent properly.

I gave up on torrents - using file hosting websites is so much easier and faster. I downloaded a 901KB film last night in under 2 hours.

It depends how many seeders it has.
Seeders are people who have downloaded the file already and so you're downloading the "pieces" off of them. If there are a lot of seeders, and they all have a good connection = fast.
Obviously your own connection matters too, but there's is just as important.
Similarly, if it's a rareish file, old, or hasn't been downloaded much - then the people who have in the past downloaded the file - may not be online or their connection may be busy for you to download from. Given that more may come online, or their connection speeds up - you'll get a better time.
