View Full Version : My first party [HELP]

Hugo

Omg, a friend has invited me to a party this Saturday, and I said yes. It's my first party. I know that sounds weird, but I've never really been to a party where there's alcohol and probably sex :/ I know, I'm 15, pathetic LOL. I'm really nervous. I'll only know my friend there because its a totally different group of people. I don't want to be too confident incase they reject me but I also don't want to be standing in the corner by myself. I'm so scared.

Locke.

Get drunk before you go.

Yeah. If everybody else is, and you're not, that's how you'll get rejected.

I get the same thing when I go to parties where I only know a few people. What I tend to do, is start off sticking with my friend, then TOGETHER slowly move around to different groups of people and just start chatting. As I get more drunk/move around to other people, we seperate and end up with random people. I wouldn't worry 'cos once you're drunk you won't care 'cos it makes you hella confident.
Just be yourself.

Just be yourself. There's nothing more dire than some "up for it" preteen trying too hard - trust me!

If you're comfortable with alcohol - get tipsy beforehand, not drunk - you'll become the boisterous annoying one if you do that.

Just enjoy yourself.

PS. Don't have sex at a party... especially when you're 15. You'll never live it down, it won't be the "stud" impression you probably expect it'll give you.

I feel like an OAP being thrown into an episode of Skins. :(

LMAO Hugo, I just can't believe you've never been to a party.
Agree with Darenn, just hang around with your friend at first, then slowly move to different groups.

Pmsfl. Parties are good fun - but don't put too much pressure on yourself. If everyone is between the ages of 14-17 they'll be having the same concerns as you!

Just stick to what you're comfortable with in terms of confidence, drinking, sex etc - and you're guaranteed to have fun.

You'll probably have people coming up to you anyways so just randomly walk about talking to people, and if they're likw tf? just say your drunk

Just be yourself and you'll be fine. No need to worry. And, you'll make some new friends there. Good luck!

LOVE IT, MY TERRATORY

Right, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR DRINK IN YOUR HAND. I recomend to have either a vodka and coke, vodka and lemonade or an MD2020 (EXCEPT ORANGE THEY ARE JUST :juk:)

Make sure your not excluded, sounds hard but its quite easy. If they were your real friends they would not exclude you. :) However im not saying stick to your friends, mingle, make new friends.

Can i ask.. Do you have a BF or GF? If so sike yourself up before you get drunk, tell yourself i have a BF/GF that i like and I'm not going to ruin that.

Try not to be nervous, i mean if you go in there with a happy, positive attitude it will be better :)

Good Luck and Have Fun HUGO!

:). Your Very Welcome.

About the BF situation, if you like someone there ASK ABOUT THEM FIRST. Ask about there history, i mean you don't want to go up to someone you like when you know nothing about him, get some background info first ;).

Here is a big point, NEVER EXCEPT A DRINK FROM ANYONE. My friend did that once and drunk some boys piss :/ She called it and i quote 'Walm' :yuk: :yuk: :yuk:

GO HAVE FUN.

Have a couple of drinks before you go to calm yourself down! Stick with your friend at first, if you're suitably mellowed out before you arrive you'll find you'll get talking to people. I mean, your friend must know the person who is having the party, or someone who's going? Speak to that person, they'll introduce you to people they know and so on! If you're not having fun, leave! :)

Lmao, that's the reason I always get drunk quickly. Cos I drink my drink when conversation dies or something - and then I end up getting through a LOT of drink.

First drunken party i went to was also 15 I think(last year), dont worry about it, its just fun.. ive never got drunk, i swear i cant, its impossible, I have drank so much it doesnt work!!!

Best thing to do is dont get very drunk, drink, be tipsy whatever but dont go over the top so you dont know what your doing, its best when you see everyone out of it and you are one of the only ones that still knows whats going on.

If you do drink, dont do the "Ohh look at me, Im soo drunk", it makes people look like a lightweight and a bit of a loser.

Just be yourself, talk to people, make friends and you will have a blast.
Tell us how it goes and if you enjoyed it :)

Just have a couple of drinks before-hand not too many, and bring some drink with you, if you feel you've had too much at the party don't drink anymore. I agree with the rest don't leave your drink down for the reason stated above and also you don't know these people and they may put something in your drink. Can i ask do you know if these guys do drugs?

Why don't you invite someone else to go with you. I do that sometimes if I think I'll end up alone.

Oh and make sure you don't come across too, "Waheyyyy lets parrrrtayyyyy!" drink in hand wobbling about kind of stuff, you'll just end up looking like a skins reject.

I agree exactly with you , dont put your drink down, there may be dodgy people at the party that you dont know.

Yes it was nearly the same situation described above i was at a party and only knew 2 people there and i left my drink down on the kitchen table, i didn't leave it there for long. When i drank it about 20 minutes later i felt really weird and went out and asked what they did, they told me they put two tabs in it so i had a fight with them and ended up with stitches above my eye:sad: wasn't good! But it's a learning curve!

Right:

If you're really scared, have a drink or two before you go, it will boost your confidence, but don't turn up drunk, just a bit buzzed, it'll make you warm to people quicker.

Secondly, and probably most importantly IMO, know when to stop drinking, tipsyness is fun, drunkness is fun, but past drunkness isn't.

Thirdly, stick with your friend but also find a couple of other people you can stick to, make conversation. I'm a really shy person but after a couple of drinks even I'm talking.

Don't mix drinks loads, I had a Whiskey-Smirnoff-Strongbow-Carlsberg mix and it didn't go too well.

Finally, just enjoy yourself, if theres music and everyones drunkenly dancing, just join in and have some fun.

Plus this is good for building your social skills around unknown faces.

No they were a group of people at the party, it was like 5 or 6 years ago i would of only been 13 -14 at the time. I still know one of them now, they thought it would be funny, it wasn't!

Lmao, a party of 15 year olds, I don't think it will matter that much. I have been spiked, I ended up in hospital after having a fit. Not nice.

Wether its a party or bar or club, you should always keep your eye on your drink, I am a fool for putting my drink down in a club.

Yeahh, just invite one of your best friends if you can, and if you need to put your drink down for some reason eg. going to the toilet, give the drink to your friend as you will know he/she wont do anything to it.
