TASK ANNOUNCEMENT
Friday 21 January 2005
THE HOUSEMATES GET STICKY -
TO WIN £10,000 OF THEIR PRIZE MONEY
This afternoon, Big Brother set the five remaining housemates a task with the highest stake yet - Sticky Lucre. The aim of the task was for each of them to roll around in a tub of sticky syrup before trying to win part of their prize fund - by rolling around in cash!
£10,000 has been deducted from the £50,000 Celebrity Big Brother prize fund and a trough of fake bank notes was unveiled to the group in the garden. Big Brother instructed them to divide into pairs, Jeremy with Kenzie, and Caprice with Bez. They firstly had just one minute to cover themselves in the syrup before submerging themselves in a trough of Big Brother Money - fake £5 notes.
Before the task details were revealed to the housemates, they were given the choice to opt out. Brigitte decided not to take part. The four other housemates did as Big Brother instructed and got very sticky in the process. Once covered in the bank notes, they had to remove them one by one and place the notes in boxes labelled with their names.
Once the task is completed and the money counted, the housemate who has collected the most cash will be called to the Diary Room. There, they will be asked to choose a question to play for the whole £10, 000. If they answer the question correctly, they will receive the money - but should they get it wrong, the four other housemates will instead have the £10,000 shared out between them.
Whatever the outcome, this Sunday's series winner will receive a £40,000 prize, instead of the original £50,000.
