Ok, I think most tibb members know that for most of my holidays I come up to scotland to see my grandad ever since my grandma died.
Anyway he lives like right next to the sea and I am so scared the sea is gunna like envolop the whole town. There is sand dumes that are protecting the town from gth sea and they are getting really thin. Half of the beach has like really hard and strong rocks/concrete protecting it and the rest doesnt. I am seriously so worried. The town isnt doing anything about it!!

Aparently they won't listen to the locals, and apparently theres been loads of complaints but they want a professioinals opinion?? I dont know if thats just a rumour or w.e but still.

Sorry rant over! x

Best to run to any high ground!

Nina, it takes quite long for the shore to break away. You have to remember that every single night, the tide comes in quite strongly - and the sea is the most powerful element on earth. Yet it's still survived now. It takes literally years and year just to etch off a few inches of coarse rock.

The council won't let anything fatal happen - cos they'll come under fire and all lose their jobs and possibly be done for neglect etc - so rest assured they'll be doing everything they can, too.

Rock is usually just sediments built up. Sand is as strong as anything.

Try not to worry about it, they won't let it get too dangerous.
