HOME And Away has cut a controversial lesbian kissing scenes after facing pressure from conservative groups.
The Aussie soap’s producers have been forced to cut intimate images from the scene, in which cop Charlie Buckton (Esther Anderson) and deckhand Joey Collins (Kate Bell) smooch passionately after dancing together on a boat, before it airs Down Under tomorrow.

Since the relationship began to develop between the pair two weeks ago, over 100,000 viewers have tuned out and the network has been inundated with complaints from parents.

They say they don't want their children exposed to same-sex relationships in the show, which has a timeslot of 7pm in Australia and 6pm on Five in the UK.

Speaking earlier this month, Esther said: "You learn pretty much everything at school.

"I don't think it's like I'm lifting the lid on something they don't already know about.

"To me there's no difference - love's love. The fact that your partner's the same sex is no different. You just want to be loved."

I think 5 said they are going to air the kiss, to be honest it's not like it's a taboo thing now and think that the people who complained need to get in touch with reality!

Read about this before, I think it's completely ridiculous. Not only is it far from controversial, but it's just encouraging double standards.

Personally i feel that this is a load of crap I mean we see gay kisses all the time, so why not lesbian kisses? I think this is abit biast, i hope cahnnel 5 air it just to prove the point that people dont need 'protected' from two peope in love, no matter what thier gender.

I'd say within the nest two weeks, we're about a week and a half behind Aussie pace. But it'll probs be on YT tomorrow if you're curious.

Controversial? Try bigoted. These people are unbelievable. 21st century and they're still acting like homosexuals are monsters and need to be hidden from public view. No doubt that all the people complaining are self-loathing repressed gays themselves.

I love the couple of "Jarlie", so i think it's ridiculous that there's complaints, we see gay kisses all a time so whats the difference with lesbian kisses.

HollyOaks has the best way
late night versions with sex in them.
That can stand alone, as well.

I think it's stupid, bloody hell, so what if they're two girls?

Hollyoaks > every other soap.

It is the way it goes
due to that early time.

It is the same in many nations,
Hollyoaks set the best way to do sex by
having a Adult Late night edition.
That was clever.
