This thread might be a thread where I talk to myself, or it might have a few people talking - whatever! I love the guys!

So, what's happening with the lads at the moment? Well, they've just done an Up Close and Personal Tour around the UK and then carried on the tour around South America for 3 weeks!

Also, something you might not know, they are working on a brand new album right now! Today, they have been in the studio recording some brand new songs!

Also, an excerpt of a blog post describing the filming. Looks like 2 McFly performances, a third performance in which they are featured and some random chatter. This all equals to a whole load of McFlyness.

Unlike the other weeks where the show had started with John singing we instead launched into one of the pieces from the show. The first "wish" centered around a group of 4 young boys (a couple of whom I think were brothers) who had formed a band called "My Kid Brother" (their VT segment included the immortal line that they had been in a band before but it had broken up due to "musical differences"). The boys' mum had been quite a rock chick in her youth and was thrilled that the boys were in a band. Their dream was to open for McFly in concert and John surprised them by bringing out McFly to sing for them (the boys were hilariously unimpressed throughout barely managing to string two words together). McFly then sang one of their numbers which was rather nice. I'm afraid I know virtually nothing about McFly and the little I know is from a girl on my flist who really likes them and is always posting pretty pictures of them so I can't possibly tell you what they sung. However half way through the song the boys' mother (dressed in red sparkly top with what looked like "Me Mum" emblazoned on it (As pointed out in the comments it was actually McMum which of course makes sense!)) appeared on wires flying down from the top of the stage, guitar in hand and rocked out with McFly. It was most awesome. I couldn't see the boys reaction from where I was sitting but judging from John's reaction it was completely hilarious.

John bought the kids on stage to meet the band (I have to say that McFly were brilliant with the kids - very generous and genuine which hasn't been the case with all the guest performers they've had) and John then told the dumbstruck kids(who were already traumatised by their flying mother!) that McFly wanted to sing the song the boys had written (something about going to a party) with them. John laughed that when the boys were told that they were coming today they had moaned about "having to go to a variety show".

The boys hustled off stage while McFly set up with John remarking that he "felt like their dad!" Bless him he did look a little older compared to them. McFly then did another song (Falling in Love?) which again was great - they were really good live. Then the boys came back. The boys' song was actually incredibly good (very Beastie Boys style music) while McFly graciously acted as backing singers (and were doing hilarious go-go style dance moves before the younger boys came on). At the end McFly asked if the boys would come and perform the song before one of their concerts which was a pretty amazing thing to offer - the mother nearly keeled over when they said it!

McFly Visit Hollyoaks
Karen Edwards watches Dougie, Danny, Harry and Tom film their one – off special...

2pm . Heat arrives at the Lime Pictures studios in Liverpool, home of Hollyoaks. We’re very excited to have been invited along to see McFly film some scenes for a special episode – the boys will be acting aswell as singing.
3.10pm. McFly are hustled into their dressing room. It’s not wasted on Heat that the boys look pretty good after their gigs in Australia.

3.25pm. Heat meanders through the main studio building, where there are loads of familiar Hollyoaks landmarks like II Gnosh and the loft. In the make-up room, the boys are getting ready. “We’re going to be responsible for getting the characters Justin and Hannah together.” Tom explains. Harry reveals he used to watch Hollyoaks all the time and has a confession to make. “I used to fancy Mandy,” he blushes.

4.15pm. the boys are introduced to the cast and crew. Danny already knows Chris. “I played footie with Danny last year for Soccer Aid.” Chris explains, I got on with him well and I speak to him quite a bit now.”

5.15pm. Filming gets underway. Tom has the most lines. It’s all too funny for Harry, Dougie and Danny, though, who burst out laughing. When the lads take a break, Dougie tells us, “The giggling was all part of my character, actually!”

6.05pm. The canteen has chicken curry on the menu, and the boys eat lashings of it. Heat chats to Chris and Emma, and Chris explains why he’s decided to leave Hollyoaks. “If I want to end up in film and big dramas, I’ve got to take this step.” he says. “It’d be nice for Justin and Hannah to have fairytale ending, though” Emma adds.

7.10pm. “Next, we have a big romantic scene where Justin realises he’s made a mistake and pulls Hannah in for a kiss,” Chris tells heat. “And just as he kisses her, McFly play their song, Falling in Love.”

8.20pm. We have one last chat with the McFly boys. Tom admits he is the worst actor in the group. “I was pretty good”, pipes up Dougie. But Harry insists that he was the star turn!

8.40pm. As Heat prepares to head home, Danny whispers “I want to be Torso of the Week.” And Dougie asks, “How much would Heat give us to do a naked photo shoot?” We’ll let you know!

OMGGGGGGG! I got there about 6 and the queue was like miles! D: people had camped in the rain over night and everything!!!! So I got in the queue, and saw my friend from McFly boards! Yeye!

Got in, grabbed a tour book and ring, then legged it in! Was about 10th row, amazing view! Although I hate tall people!! :tongue:

David Achuleta was on first, he was proper good! Everyone was singing along, and he covered Angels by Robbie!

Waited like half an hour for McFly, they came on, the whole place went crazy! Loads of people were carried out by people, one girl went past me.. her eyes were in her head and she was proper cold! Mum helped her 2 friends carry her out! Was terrible!!

Everyone was jumping around like maniacs, was proper awesome!!!! Before the last song, they were talking for ages! Was so good!

Harry (drummer) sang and danced haha! Then Doug did a weird dance xD Tom talked about Twitter and Dan added random comments!!!

Then they did 5 colours as last song, and at the end, Doug took off his bass, did a running jump and went flying into the audience!!! Was crazyyy!! Everyone legged it forward and it got really bad hahaha!

I felt like telling everyone!

MCFLY'S Dougie Poynter and his lover Frankie Sanford of The Saturdays have been enjoying so much hanky-panky they broke their bed.

The loved-up couple moved in together two weeks ago after dating for almost a year and have been making the most of their new-found privacy.

A close pal of the twosome said: "They ended up in a heap on the floor after their bed frame in their fl at collapsed in the middle of the night.

"Frankie was devastated but Dougie thought it was hilarious. He jokingly told Frankie she needed to go on a diet. Then he said he couldn't wait to tell the lads that they'd been having so much fun that their bed snapped."

The 21-year-old bassist seems quite the joker and enjoys discussing his love weapon.

He said: "Frankie thinks I look funny naked. I think that's probably a good thing, you know - I'm providing humour in the bedroom. I don't have an beep and I have a small cock. I've never measured it. I'm too scared to face the truth."

Frankie, 20, moved into Dougie's flat a fortnight ago and it's the fi rst time she's lived away from her family home in Upminster, Essex.

McFly working on sci-fi concept album

McFly have revealed that they are working on a sci-fi concept album for release in 2010.

The pop group, who have been promoting their DVD Radio:Active Live At Wembley, are currently writing the follow-up to 2008's RADIO: Active LP.

Bassist Dougie Poynter claimed that the boyband's new album had been inspired by Fred M. Wilcox's sci-fi classic The Forbidden Planet.

"It will absolutely kick beep," Poynter told the Daily Star. "It is going to blow your heads off.

"The whole concept of the album is really cool. It's more the story we've been working on, think McFly meets The Forbidden Planet."

McFly feel 'privileged' over 'Hollyoaks'

McFly have thanked Hollyoaks producers for allowing them to make a guest appearance on the soap.

The boyband signed up for a cameo on the Channel 4 show in March and their scenes eventually aired earlier this month.

Speaking in an interview with IN:DEMAND on Manchester's Key103, band member Tom Fletcher confirmed that the group was grateful for the opportunity to perform on the programme.

"It was really good fun. We did it about a month ago," he revealed. "It was an amazing opportunity for us, they had our music throughout the whole show and we were very privileged to be able to be on it. So thank you, Hollyoaks."

The stars then refused to be drawn on their favourite female cast members, explaining that they were only able to meet Emma Rigby (Hannah Ashworth) on set.

McFly recently announced that they are working on a sci-fi concept album which will be released in 2010.

McFly has drawn huge crowds to the Cheltenham Christmas lights switch-on, entertained a sell-out crowd at GL1 in Gloucester, and now the lads have returned to the county for their biggest gig yet – Westonbirt Arboretum.

Recently back from South America they looked around at the jumping crowd, took in the glorious tree lined surroundings, the sunny skies and yelled “England kicks ass”.

With an injection of their cheeky energy they raced around the stage, shouted for everybody to jump and asked if the enthusiastic crowd was ready for the best night of their lives.

Starting off with a cry of “Let’s kick it”, they launched into Radio which set the tone of lively, feel-good music that makes you smile.

They followed it with Everybody Knows, then Do You Love Me? And it was clear from the grinning youngsters sat astride their dads' shoulders with their fists in the air, and teenagers bouncing and leaping around, that the crowd really did love them.

The band’s infectious energy and natural enthusiasm never dropped for a second as the songs followed thick and fast, in a really fast paced show. They belted out many of their tracks from their latest album Radioactive with a sprinkling of older songs like the first song Tom and Danny wrote – Room on the First Floor and Star Girl, as well as their classic It’s All About You.

The screaming crowd never stopped cheering, dancing, and lapping up the performance. It’s clear the boys will be in great demand whenever they may next return to Gloucestershire.

They don’t come from the future, they also don’t come from the past, they come straight from London. There they have conquered millions of hearts and they want to conquer yours too. If you still don’t have the pleasure of knowing them, we have them here all for you.


It all started when Tom wanted to start in new music projects. Even though some of his previous tries failed, his persistence inspired him to start his own band. From that moment on, Tom began writing songs and forming a new phenomenon: McFly.


As you imagined, the band’s name comes from the last name of the protagonist in the movie Back to the Future.


Since 1 April, these four Englishmen started out to our country. Even though this band is widely popular in their native country, they are pretty new here in Mexico, however we can assure you that no matter where you are or where you live; they will equally drive you crazy.

How did you feel playing for the first time in Mexico? How did it go?

It was huge, the Aztec Stadium is huge; it was the biggest crowd we ever played for, we got very emotional. It was definitely a fun experience for the audience and for us. Even though it wasn’t our concert, we will be coming back in June so we can get to know our fans better.


These boys have accumulated success after success. At the moment their history is filled with gold and platinum discs, and long weeks in the number one spot on the popular music list.


What did you like most about our country, McFly?

The food is good and the climate is amazing; we are getting quite bronzed. Every time we see the sun, we love to go in and get toasted.


You see them as four very cute boys but they are much more than that, they have a lot of personality to be able to rock it out on stage. But don’t let them fool you, they are very much heartbreakers with their cute looks, they have admitted to us that they have more than 5 girlfriends, wives, and friends that are girls and they’re still looking!


We know you think they’re perfect but we asked each of them what it was that they liked least about themselves; here are their answers.


Tom and Danny: “Our ears are smelly.”

Harry: “I have “fish?” in my fingers. I don’t like them one bit.”

Dougie: “I don’t like my face; I think my nose is too big.”


Their recent album, Radio:ACTIVE was release at the end of last year, but has not yet been released in Mexico. They easily talk about what they have accomplished in the album. “We like this record because it has strong, emotional songs that people can relate to. It’s our best album. There are happy songs and sad songs.”


So now you know what waits for you if you join the thousands of fans who adore McFly, who even at their young age (the boys are between 21-23) have the attitude to not be stopped for nothing; plus they plan to grow old together so we’ll have McFly around for a long time.

Did you know you had fans in Mexico?

Tom: “We knew we had some, mostly through the internet, on MySpace and places like that… When we checked our messages we noticed that they wrote from here and that’s why we’re here.”

Dougie: “It’s incredible and weird that they know our songs. English isn’t their native language, but they sing all our hits; it makes us happy to see that. Now it’s our turn to learn some Spanish because we don’t know what to say in between songs.”


You’ve had a short but super successful career, how do you describe what you’ve seen till now?

Harry: “It doesn’t seem short, it’s been 6 good years with good friends, we’ve been through huge, unforgettable things, trips, concerts, recordings; we’ve had great memories but there’s still so much to accomplish.”

Dougie: “It’s been a trip like Frodo and his friends and I’m Frodo. I’m serious, we’ve grown and matured together, our adolescence flew by as we did so many things as a band; now we’re just like one big family.”


You guys started when you were younger than 20, did you always rely on your parents support as you reached your goals in music?

Danny: Yes, Dougie left school when he was 15, so he had a tutor his first year in the band, but the rest of us had already finished school. In my case, my parents were worried at the beginning but they never stopped supporting us.”

Tom: “You can always go back to school, but being in a band and doing this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s what we dreamed of!”


Would you like to go back to college at one point?

Dougie: “Yes I think that we would go. I’d like to study a lot of things; I’m interested in knowledge in general.”


How do you stay grounded, without letting the fame get to your heads?

Harry: “It’s gravity,” he says in a serious tone but then laughs and says, “I really think we take care of each other; I don’t think any of us are extremely crazy, we’re just normal guys that love life.”

Tom: “Our manager would never let us get out of control.”


Lets talk about your record, Radio:ACTIVE. What can you say about it to someone who hasn’t heard it completely?

Danny: “That you’re going to find pop-rock songs. Much of the record is things that we have lived in recent years, the ups and the downs, plus it has love songs that anyone can relate to. “

Dougie: “It’s an album that will make you feel good, probably because we recorded it near the beach (in Australia). It’s a happy CD, but it does have some serious songs that don’t stop being fun to listen to.”


They say that One for the Radio is about those that call McFly a guilty pleasure, does that bother you guys? Has someone already commented that they are a fan of your band?

Danny: “I think the song is saying that we don’t care about that, that we are happy the way we are. I don’t know if the song will change anyone’s mind but if it does, then that’s good.”


In Down Goes Another One, you guys talk about suicide. Is it a special message you want to send out to your depressed fans?

Dougie: “It’s a response to a song that Tom wrote for our second CD (She Falls Asleep), about a girl that commits suicide but this one is from the guy’s point of view, the boyfriend of the girl who committed suicide. It’s not a message for the fans, but if someone were to ask us to do a campaign against these situations, we’d accept.”


There’s a song (Smile) that says that a girl doesn’t have to be skinny to be your girlfriend. What attracts you to a girl?

Dougie: “The truth is that we really aren’t superficial or picky. I look for someone with a sense of humor, who’s humble and positive…”

Harry: “Their personality is what we’re attractive to.”


Are you single, or where is your heart at?

Danny: “Some of us have girlfriends but others have broken up recently. Generally, we’re all faithful.”


What’s next for you guys?

Tom: “We want to achieve so many things. We’d love it if Radio:ACTIVE and all our CDs were out worldwide…. Oh, and to keep making music.”

It's like a follow on from UCAPATTIP tour >.< (Up close and this time it's personal tour) which was done in places like Hammersmith apollo, Manchester apollo and shizz >.<

What happened was, a few days after she died, a few of us tweeted Tom about it, then he replied and said he was sorry to hear about it and how sad it was..

Then about 2 weeks later, it was her funeral, and the last song played was 'The Last Song' by McFly... so that was her last song.

So then everyone who knew her started tweeting #serahslastsong , and it got into the TT's and everything, and Tom hadn't seen it. So the next day a load of Tom hate started for ignoring it, and then he replied to someone 'Ohhh, we're clever aren't we. I said how sorry I was about her a while ago, how much more do you want?'. Imagine having that said about your friend... everyone went nuts xD
