It was my uncle's(who was my godfather as well) funeral today. He was my mum's brother. And it was the most horrible thing ever. To see my family so broken. It was a lovely service-my dad made a great speech that completely summed Philip up. My uncle's wife and her kids read out the poem from 'Four Weddings And A Funeral',the kids are only 11,8 and 5. They were so good. I cried throughout the entire thing, especially at my dad's speech.

The wake back at my granny's house was full of 'family' who I have no idea who they were but later in the day it was just proper family and we were sharing memories and laughing and crying. It made me realise how much I love my family and even though we're all so broken we can be broken together. It is the tiny silver lining-how close we've come in the last few days. We're all rocks for each other.

I wanted to thank TiBB and especially Mark,Gaz,Stace,Ross,Loukas and Christina for the msn chats and for just being there. This forum has proven a very welcome distraction to something so tragic and I'm very grateful to you all. It is so much easier to love than to hate. I'll always remember Philip and the happiness he brought to life. R.I.P.

My family are amazing,I never really realised how close we all were, but there was like 30ish people I could easily go up and have a huge hug and cry with today.

Ooh and Christina yeah it was that poem-my aunt loves it. I was supposed to do a reading but decided against it this morning.

Oh my God Laura, that poem (Stop all the Clocks) is amazing...in a not so positive way :\

I know what it's like to lose a family member so young, so I can understand how you feel - but the closer it's brought our family together (and, from the sounds of it, yours too) is almost the silver lining on the cloud.

R.I.P. and I hope all is well soon.
