I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! returns to US screens on NBC on June 1st, around six years after the flop first series.

It's quite early to start a discussion thread - :laugh: - but I wanted somewhere I could post this promo for the show:

I'm not sure how correct this is, but some of the apparent contestants are:

- Former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich
- Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag of The Hills fame
- Duane Chapman (Dog The Bounty Hunter)
- American Idol 6 finalist Sanjaya Malakar
- Journalist and writer Geraldo Rivera...

...and finally Janice Dickinson, who you'll probably know was a contestant on the seventh UK series of I'm A Celebrity.

I'd LOVE it if Janice was a contestant :cheer:

The first series aired on ABC in 2003, but it was a flop and subsequently axed. ITV managed to sell it to NBC earlier this year though, and they'll be broadcasting a second series in June :thumbs:

Rod Blagojevich will NOT be appearing on I'm A Celebrity..! 2 USA. I saw him give an interview on the Today Show and he said that the court limited him to staying within the United States; however, that does mean that other rumored celebrities are set to appear since Blagojevich was planning on competing but restricted.

UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIF. – April 24,2009 – NBC announced today casting for its new groundbreaking live summer television event "I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!" premiering Monday, June 1.

Cast members will include: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (stars of MTV's "The Hills"), NBA great and TV personality John Salley ("Best Damned Sports Show Period"), supermodel and TV star Janice Dickinson ("The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency"), 2007 "American Idol" contestant Sanjaya Malakar, actor Stephen Baldwin ("The Usual Suspects") and professional wrestler and beauty queen Torrie Wilson. Additional celebrity contestants will be named soon along with the hosts of the show.

"I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!" is the ultimate "Swiss Family Robinson" as 10 celebrities will be dropped into the heart of the jungle to face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills. America is the puppet master, controlling their favorite celebrities by putting them into challenges and tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items. In each episode, friendships will be tested, hilarity will ensue and viewers will decide which celebrities stay or go. The last remaining star will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, winning a substantial cash prize for their favorite charity.

In a unique scheduling move, "I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!" will air at 8 p.m. over four weeks in June. The new series will debut as a two-hour television event on Monday, June 1 (8-10 p.m. ET) and will follow with broadcasts on Mondays through Thursdays (8-9 p.m. ET) for the first three weeks. During the fourth week of June, the series will be telecast Monday through Wednesday (8-9 p.m. ET) with the finale on Wednesday, June 24 (8-9 p.m. ET).



The series is produced by Granada America. Chris Brogden and Jayson Dinsmore serve as executive producers; Michael Brooks and Tamsin Dodgson are the co-executive producers.

She is a classical musician and former singer in band HearSay. She came 2nd in the UK's 2007 series.

NBC have confirmed that the presenters will be Damien Fahey and Myleene Klass.

Damien hosted TRL on MTV in the USA before they took the decision to axe it.

When you really think about it: What's another reality star on another reality show? She's famous for not being famous - a Big Brother type personality who garners no respect in the industry. Nobody takes her (or her boyfriend with the creepy flesh-colored beard) seriously.

If we're speaking in means of success: Stephen Baldwin and Janice Dickinson take the cake. I can't imagine how people can consider these talentless two as bonafide celebrities. They'll be like Stephen and Kristin in 5 years. "Who?" you may ask? Point proved.

We've learned Heidi was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a gastric ulcer, after being held with hubby Spencer Pratt in a dark room for a day and a night with only water, rice and beans. It was designed as punishment because they left the show. One cast member described their treatment this way -- "It's the same as Guantanamo Bay."

And get this ... a cast member tells us NBC execs tried to convince Heidi to stay on the set rather than take an ambulance to a hospital for treatment. She has now left the hospital and is on meds.

We're told some of the cast members want to quit, but their passports have been taken away and they are under guard.

Paul Telegdy, NBC's Exec VP of Alternative Programming, told Ryan Seacrest about holding Heidi and Spencer in isolation as punishment, adding, "...They are now going to be examined, and their value system utterly deconstructed ...These people really are going to bare their souls."

We're told Spencer has fired his lawyer (who wanted him to stay on the show) and is now planning to sue NBC over the show.

Spencer and Heidi now want out ... for good....but there's a problem -- they signed a contract with NBC to do the show.

NBC reps did not return our calls ...so far.
