I'm sure most of you are aware now that the Big Brother live feed has ben scrapped.

I'm absolutely livid about this, because live feed was BB's USP (unique selling point). WIthout this, the show is irrelevant. It's a huge travesty that the feed will not be returning and I am so annnoyed, it's unreal .

I think Channel 4's treatment of the show has been disgusting over the last few years, especially when you consider BB is C4's biggest show.

They firstly made the highlights shows really crap by taking out all the offensive bits to please the Ofcom brigade.

Then they got rid of the online stream.

Then they got rid of 24/7 red button stream.

Then they got rid of Big Mouth (except Chavina's Friday shows).

It's a total disgrace.

Anyone agree?

They got rid of live feed as they are scared of what might be shown. Offcom has taken over BB and everyone complains and PRETENDS to have morals about certain things and they dont and now they practically scripting it all out. They might as well hand out play scripts and hire actors.

Yeah - I completely agree.

The stupid Ofcom complainers have ruined the show. And Channel 4 are caving in to it.

I really despise the channel.

It was brilliant during BB1-BB7, but it's gone so bad over the last few years.

Yeah 100% agree with you on that one. Ofcom has ruined more programmes than its helped. I am going to complain about ofcom...

There should be an anti-Ofcom company where you can send your praises about shows to balance the complaints out.

I bet more people would praise the show than complain about it.

I bloody hate Ofcom!!!!

Even though the loss of live feed, and other cut backs, we all knew it was gonna happen anyway.
Channel 4 are going through a very tougth time atm, like everyone else.
Really, these cut backs are needed to keep Channel 4 on our tv's.
But im sure, if this bb is succsesful, and brings in a fair bit of profit for em, big brother will be back on the way to recovery

I think its very shocking and bad how C4 are treating the show
but I can't understand why.
It is still one of their biggest shows and makes them a huge amount of profit even though viewing figures have slipped. At one time Big Brother was getting over 10million viewers, surely C4 should be thinking how to win some of this potential audience back not just let the show die
I hate to think how they will schedule the show.

Its like a Jew in a camp. They dont like it. Its like they are torturing the fans like the Jews in the showers. Please BB let us out of the madness PLEASE!!!

My Conclusion

Channel 4 want to ruin the show, so that no other channel would dream of picking it up after BB11

That's actually a very poor conclusion.

Why would Channel 4 deliberately make it so bad, when they are in such a dire situation financially. They probably want the shwo to be as good as possible, while limiting costs. Hence they're going to try and best to make the actual huighlights shows as good as they can within their tight regulations.

It's absolute nonsence what you said. It's true that their treatment has been poor, but I doubt they've done it deliberately to sabotage the format of the show.

Even if Channel 4 don't reneew their contract, I do think there will be otehr channels with a slight interest. There's no 100% guarantee that another channel will pick it up, but nonetheless the interest will be there.

Channel 4 have lost millions after the race row and now they want rid of the show because it has tarnished there brand, so why make it look attractive to other channels when you are about to get rid of it.

They still require the shwo to have decent ratings to bring in the advertising revenue.

By all means- I agree, it's not the show it was a few years ago. But since race row, it couldn't be the same show.

I'm disgusted by their treatments of the spin-offs.

But I don't think they're deliberately running it to the ground so no other broadcaster picks up the rights. I think that's a load of rubbish.

Sky could easily pick up the rights for the series even if the ratings arent great because it' s a subscription service.

The problem is that they can't make it as wacky as BB5 because all the Ofcom complainers will be complaining in their thousands. We have to accept that and I sort of sympathise with Channel 4 about that.

But the axing of Live Feed is unnecssary. They've gone onto the whole "Credit Crunch" bandwagon and used it unfairly to say it's the only reason for its axing.

Of course it isnt. They just want more control over the show and manipulate viewers more.

Would Rachel have won last year without the live feed? I doubt it. I highly doubt it.
