He can dribble the ball well, he doesn't fall over much when being tackled, he can do anything with the ball, he can cross, do diagonal long pass, shoot from distance, and is fast as well, Messi is good but he is only good for dribbling. IMO tevez is the better player, he was second leading goal scorer last season for man utd, this season he lost his confidence when ferguson bought in overrated player Berbatov for 30 million which affected tevezs position. It will be a huge loss if he leaves, he is the first player i seen in Man UTD shirt who can play like zidane or maradona style.

I didn't rate him much when i heard he was coming in until i saw him playing for UTD, he blew me away with his dribbling, crosses, long balls, skills.

what is opinions of others.

Messi > Any modern footballer.

Main playmaker, target man, goal scorer... everything.

Tevez will be a better player when he's wearing a Liverpool shirt next season.

I've never really seen Messi play though, which is why I'm going to watch Chelsea vs Barca this week.

Messi is good player yeh, but he can take free kicks and his passes are short pass where a player is close to him, whilst tevez can do brilliant long passes or diagonal long pass curl. I just think tevez deserves more. I would think he would be better and comfortable in midfield positions like zidane was. He has this factor to make him one of the best players of this time.

i dont think messi is the best player in the world but what does he have hey ? Just the usual dribbling ability, Can he provide a decent cross ? i never saw him providing a fine cross like tevez was able to do. Can messi play different ranged passes ? nope doubt it again he only plays simple basic passes along the ground which anyone can do and you call him the best playmaker. Does he have the strength ? It's just that his popular for that solo goal and became lucky to be called the next maradona. messi. Carlos tevez can dribble good maybe not like messi but almost the same. He can take free kicks proved for west ham lot of times and will for man utd. Can head the ball unlike messi. Has built strength. Can cross the ball and play ambitious long balls with his vision as he proeved it for man utd with number of assists to rooney berbatov and ronaldo. And has the stamina of a bull.

I admire tevez' tenacity and hunger for football and for the battle,, but I wouldn't rate him as highly as Messi. Tevez doesn't retain possession well enough and his ball distribution can be horrendous. His first touch can be a horror show..... I'm screaming at him half the time he collects the ball cuz I know that it's a 50/50 chance whether or not he'll use it well.

If you compare this to Messi, he rarely is wasteful with the ball at feet.... always looking for a man and maintaining possession. Most important facet of football nowadays and for that alone he has Tevez beaten, nevermind the rest of his many wonderful talents.
