Daily star says June 4th Launch. New story! May 8th. I know their stories are unreliable, but on the Daily Star news for tomorrow 8th.:shrug:

Big Brother host Davina McCall’s job is on the line after she hinted that the hit Channel 4 show is facing the axe.



The presenter claimed the C4 ratings juggernaut – which she’s hosted for nine years and which helped launch her career – will not be back after next year.

Davina, 41, reportedly said it only had “two years left”. But her bolshy comments on the future of the show have left TV chiefs fuming.

One stormed: “Since when did Davina appoint herself commissioning editor of Channel 4? Big Brother is not going away. It’s one of C4’s flagship shows.”

TV star Davina is currently on holiday.

But when she flies back home she is set to face the wrath of TV producers for claiming the programme will be given the push by 2011.

Channel 4’s deal with the show’s makers Endemol runs until the end of 2010.

After this summer’s Big Brother 10, starting on Thursday June 4, there will be two more shows based at Elstree Studios. These will be Celebrity Big Brother in January 2010 and Big Brother 11 later in the year.

After that, Channel 4 and Endemol will need to sort out a new deal.

Last night a spokesman for Davina declined to comment on the story.

But a spokeswoman for Channel 4 said: “We have two years left on our current contract and it is far too early to speculate on new negotiations.”
