Having made 'Ones To Watch in '09' lists across the globe, VV Brown is one of this years most hot anticipated new artists. Having created her very own new genre of music 'do-wop indie', she hopes to spread her message throughout the world with her singles, 'Brying Blood', 'Leave!' and 'Shark In The Water'. Her debut album is set for release in June of this year and she has already made high profile performances on T4, Sunday Night Project and Later With Jools Holland and toured as a support act to The Ting Tings and the Sugababes.

hehe same I dsicovered her through an interview on DS with 'Ones To Watch in 2009' tagged on it. I hope she is successful, we need someone like her around. Though I imagine she will be put against Pixie Lott and Kate Nash when she launches.

huge on VV atm.
when I saw her, she sang 'Everybody', 'Crying Blood', 'Leave', 'Game Over', 'Bottles', 'L.O.V.E' and after 'Shark In The Water', which was her last song, she did 'Crying Blood (Reggae Remix)' which was SO cool.

Yeahhh, didn't really say much 'cos there were loads of fans waiting for pics/signings.
I was stupidly like "Your VV Brown!!' and she just laughed and was like 'Yeah, I am' so I asked her for a hug and she said 'Of course' and hugged me, and then I asked her for a picture and she was like 'Of course you can', and then after I took it, I told her the gig was awesome and that I couldn't wait for the album and she said 'Aw thank you, that means a lot'.
:]

Popstar VV Brown has revealed that she is launching her own comic next month.

The singer has collaborated with David Allaine, the director of her 'Crying Blood' music video, on a five-instalment series called The City of Abacus.

"The first instalment's got the same title as my album - Travelling Like The Light - and you'll be able to buy it online when the album comes out," she told DS.

"We're also pushing for a distribution deal so you can buy it when you pick up my album in the store."

The star of The City of Abacus, which Brown describes as "very political - kind of Manga Marxism" - is based on the singer herself.

"The character in the comic is kind of subconsciously me. She's got a hairstyle like me and she's half-human, half-chicken because I have chicken legs," she said.

VV Brown releases debut album Travelling Like The Light on July 20.

DS

sounds cool, I hope it comes with the CD.

they just don't like appaz. such a pity, this could have been her breakout single.

MarkWaldorf
28-06-2009, 02:35 PM
Wtf, how can they? Is it not their job to play music, regardless of personal taste? The chorus is super catchy too..

MrGaryy
28-06-2009, 02:36 PM
It's all down to what playlist it makes it on to. A List, B List ect. they just play what they think will be big. I reckon she'll get a lot of Radio 2 plays though, she suits their sound very much.

MarkWaldorf
28-06-2009, 02:38 PM
This song is easily number one potential. Pixie Lott could do it, yet SitW is miles better.

MrGaryy
28-06-2009, 03:16 PM
ifkr, Pixie can kiss VV's ass. Clearly this type of music is popular atm, like I said before, they're loosing out more than VV is.

VV has worked with writers Evan Bogart (Beyonce), Jean Baptiste (Black Eyed Peas), Mr Griffiths (Jem) and writer/producers Bjorn Yttling (of feted Swedish indie rockers Peter Bjorn and John), "because I needed to twist things up a bit," and Ne-Yo collaborator Chuck Harmony, who produced the album’s first single 'Children' featuring Chiddy (of Philadelphia's Chiddy Bang). "The song was written about a generation that has uninspiring aspirations and believes material wealth is what happiness is," VV says, adding that the song feels particularly topical given the summer riots in London. "You have to give people a voice," she says. "Everyone has to be heard, because otherwise they will make themselves heard." 'Children' will be available for sale on all DSPs in the States on September 20th.
