How did you discover Big Brother?

Like the first time you watched it, did you read about it in the paper, just randomly come across it on the TV, a friend told you about it... you get the point.

I can't really remember how I came across it first time around, but I can remember watching the last few weeks... come to think of it, I think a couple of my friends were watching it so I decided to too.

Then on BB5 I was watching an episode of Punk'D on C4 and BB came on after it quite late at night, the one were Shell ran around the garden naked. So I started watching more from there. The rest of the later series' I either just randomly came across them on TV or saw them in the paper.

My sister and Mum and Dad watching the first episode of BB2, and from there I just got hooked.

Im now much more hooked than both of them. My Dad watched some of them, he enjoyed BB7 the most, didnt watch BB9 much and liked CBB6 shockingly, maybe because he knew/liked all of the older celebs like Terry, Ulrika ect...

My sister watches it still though but was dissapointed in BB8 and BB9.
And my mum doesnt watch it at all anymore (since BB5), she just watched CBB5 when the raicism row happened.

One night during BB3, my dad turned it on and he was just watching people sleeping in their beds. I didn't know what it was until a few weeks later when I went on holiday with my neighbours, and they wanted to watch the final. Then I remember really liking it so I watched the BB4 launch and the rest is history as they say. :p

Then i watched almost all of BB7 and havent stopped watching since!

Saw a programme about the orginal Dutch version, how in HMs had become household names and the excitement on eviction nights.

So when it came to the UK version I tuned in from the start. It was all very low key until Craig found those bits of paper...

It was when i was 14 in 2000 and i saw all the fuss about Nick lying and that hed been confronted in the papaers so i watched the episode were he is caught out and evicted and was hooked since then. watched every series since.

BB2 had be me hooked
BB3 was good but kind got a bit depressing with the divide so didnt watch for a few weeks.

BB4 was obsessed by and this is really when i started paying attention to the logo design.

BB5 again loved more than any other series.

BB6 i was most obsessed with in the pre series build up....the eye the house design etc, the finale of BB5 really physched me up for this launch.

BB2 was the first one me and my bloke watched together, and we've watched every one since, BB3 was the first one we really got addicted to but some we've liked more than others over the years.

I dipped in and out of BB4, I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as people make out

Watched BB5 from the off. I just loved the evil thing and all the housemates conflicting each other (Marco going in then Ahmed saying he hates gays etc) that was genius that line up. I remember thinking when they put Nadia in "oh my god a ******. she'll get eaten alive in there and won't last". How wrong I was ...

Hooked since then, well except the period between CBB5 and Hijack, oh and CBB6. Even though 4 out of the last 5 series' have been rubbish I'm looking forward to BB10 more than ever ...

i started watching halfway through big brother 5 ... i got told of someone that a local girl was in big brother (michelle bass) and started watching , i always back a geordie housemate every year . so it was great to see anthony win it in 2005 and liam to get in the final in 2008 . I hope there's a male geordie housemate in this year :D .

American Version
I was 8 when the first season was on. I think i caught one highlight show and it was my only one, they were dying each other's hair blue or something and they opened the lines that episode for an eviction.

Then mom must of heard of BB2 from friends at work and I watched the first ep with her. I've been hooked since.

I first heard of BBUK on Wikipedia around BB8 but never looked up clips. Looked up BB9 clips a year later

I was obsessed with Friends at the time and the BB5 launch was on straight after the Friends finale on C4 and I thought it looked interesting so I gave it funny. It's weird to think that cos of BB I went on a Prestelle forum and ended up obsessed with Take That. So loads of people I know and experiences I've had have been down to Channel 4's scheduling.

One night in 2006 at my mum's friends house I watched Nikki changing in the bedroom and my Mum's friend took the mick out of me for watching naked girls or something LOL but I liked the idea of the show at this point, I was just too young. And in December 2009 I watched a C4 special about the history of BB, gave CBB7 a chance and loved it, then got hooked during BB11 and loved it from start to finish. Big Brother isn't really a big show here. Whereas I think it was the first mainstream reality show in the UK, here it started a month after Survivor, which was a massive hit, and the first season of BBUS was unbearably boring. I only heard about BB as a result of being a Survivor fan and going on Survivor forums. I only know a few people at my school who watch BB.

It was hard to not discover back in 2000, but I still could've easily chose not to give it a try. If I hadn't stuck with it back then, I probably wouldn't have watched anymore series and that's a scary thought, as it's easily been one of my favourite TV shows of the 21st century. Even if I am still around in 2099, I still think it will be.:D
