But the overcrowding of prisons? The cost? I don't think being locked up would really help.

Not a Problem as New Prisons are being built.
Carry a knife
you would be well aware you get 5 solid years in Prison
Then No one in there right mind would carry a knife.
Fine people who carry a knife. People who carry a knife for "self defense" wouldn't do that if they felt safe in the knowledge that nobody was allowed to carry knives - therefore slap a whopping fine on carrying a knife; failure to pay it leading to community service or a jail sentence?

People who carry knives for self defence are as brain dead as brain dead can be.......Don't the silly morons ever think they could be over powered and killed with their own knife.......Or do the silly gits think the attacker is going to wait while one gets a knife out of a hand bag or pocket.......Mind boggling stupidity....
The carrying of a knife or any deadly weapon should carry the death sentence.....Prisons are too full for even more idiots than we now have....

My grandad carries a knife.
But uses it to cut fruit.
And other stuff when hes out doing beating.
He didnt even think about it when he went on london eye had to hand it in.
Carries a knife not intended to harm anyone or use in self defence.

Following that silly logic would give the right for anyone to carry guns "For protection" also.......The mentality of the wild wild west......All civilians that carry an un-licenced deadly weapons should be executed........
