"Gladiators has done a great job for Sky1 over two seasons, resonating with our young audience and showcasing our entertainment credentials. But now we need to prioritise and allow for both new entertainment formats and genres not recently seen on Sky1, such as comedy," he said.

"I have also decided not to recommission Don't Forget the Lyrics for the same reasons. I would like to thank Shine and RDF for their hard work," Murphy added.

Comedy on Sky One? Nah brah. Mind you, Gladiators was the show for the guy in your class who used to get laughs by stealing lunchboxes and running into walls so ... wahey!

I think that is a guilty pleasure we can almost admit to. At one point or another we all wanted the full set up in the backyard as children. I got as far as a trampoline, and that was the end of my gladatorial dream .

Surprised by that
If Sky want to be big on entertainment they should build on the successful entertainment shows they have as well as creating news ones
