Is dance a sport??

The PE department are split over this decision, but they say 'Yes' it is. Its classes a Sport on the UK GCSE Syllabus too.

Anyone disagree or agree?

Yes I would say it is. Look at ice skating it's not all about the ice it's about the dance performances put into it.

Personally I would say it isn't, it is art. Yes its exercise but not a sport, it is expressing yourself through art.

I see sport as like a competition,so if it's like a dance-off then yeah it is. Otherwise, no.

I'd say - choreography anyway - is artistic rather than a sport. Like songwriting or painting.
