View Full Version : Spend or Save?
What kind of person are you when it comes to money? When you earn/receive any notable sum of money, do you save it for a rainy day; spend it gradually or go all out and buy something nice with it? Do you prefer having a lot of money (without ever intending on spending it) or do you like being able to show off new things that you've bought?
I'm more of a saver. I worked full time last summer, earned myself a lot of money and I've still got a couple of hundred quid left over from that, bearing in mind a lot of money that I would spend on a day to day basis comes from my parents; I'm still impressed with myself that I've not even spent all the money I earned nearly a year ago. However, it's not as if I'm saving the money for anything in particular, I just like having it there I guess.

I am so jealous that you are a saver babe! Haha
Sadly I am a spender. I am so much of a spender that I even spend money that I dont have. When I feel down or upset, I shop and buy things to make me happy. Not just clothes or that. Like expensive things, like new digi cams, new iPod, DSi etc etc. I like things that cost money so I feel like its good. Obviously this is not the case. Cos then I just get up depressed about it all.
But I will need to be saving soon cos I am moving again!

Spend on Good Deals,
this is not a good time to save
due to no interest from Pathetic Brown
who will be kicked out of power soon.
Spend afraid. If I have money I usually have to spend it.

I am usually a saver. I am given like a tenner a week.
At the start of the month I had like £90 but then I had a big night out and spent it all on an outfit for it etc

Well, I'm both to be honest.
I like spending because my parents give me a lot of money every month so I can buy pretty much everything I want to.
However, they have decided that their kids won't be some spoiled little bastards so I do work every summer since my 16 to get the value of money.
I could live without working for a while, I don't need to work to pay my studies or my car or a flat but I think it's important to know the value of working.
So I'm both to be honest, I like spending a lot in clothes, parties but at the same time, I'm proud of the things I worked hard for so I save some.

It depends what it's for. At at moment I'm spending all my money in TopShop on clothes and have no money!
For my last Take That tour I was determined to buy so much merchandise I saved a thousand euro in about 9 months,it lasted me soooooo long. But this time I know that the concerts are more important than the merchandise so I havn't really saved much at all.

Spend. I get paid fortnightly and it's a neverending cycle ... I get paid, half is owed out, the other half gets spent within a week so I borrow to get me threw the following week ... and so on and so forth, untill I realise I have a week in Turkey, 4 days in Ibiza and a festival to pay for and sort it out ... Turkey is 2 months away and I've just borrowed £60 for Manchester tomorrow which will be gone by Monday ... so the cycle continues.
Nah I really need to sort it out after this next pay day otherwise I'll be going nowhere, I just wish I had more self control, but when it's there, I just love spending it, it's not meant to just sit there LOL. I guess I think because I work hard for it, I want something to show for it.
