What is with this with guys?

When you're out and stuff and a guy comes up to you randomly on the street or something (like yesterday a random guy came up and started talking to me and my friend and generally hitting on me... urgh) and asks for your number they always say "i'll call tomorrow". Normally I'm not really bothered either way as I obv have a boyfriend but I realized today they don't actually call.

What's the point of having someones number and saying your going to call and then don't?

Just wondered if it was a guy thing really. I feel so out of touch with the dating world ahahhahha.

BEAR IN MIND THIS WAS AT 10PM AND NEITHER PARTY WAS DRUNK (in this situation.)

Usually it's freaky guys asking for my number and I give them my ex boyfriends, but then a few days after I'm like to my ex "any weird phone calls?" and he's like "no."
