Oh shizz!

I'm dreading ringing up! I can't wait to go - but we have to ring up and ask questions!

What on earth do I say? Hello! I'm Nicky, and I'm doing my work experience with you! Can I ask some questions?

I will sound like a right numpty!!

Ummm..just be like "what time will I be starting at?", "what responsibilities will I have?", "what is the dress code?"
Stuff like that?

You should have a layout of what your going to say, write down what questions you want to ask and go over them a couple of times and make sure that they're relevant. Be polite and courteous when you ring and just take your time, i'm sure you'll be fine!!

one of the things of doing work experience is that you have to speak to your employer and customers and stuff

You should have done yours at a school. I didn't have to ring up or nothing, just turn up on the day.

I sound weird on the phone :sad:

and I talk way to fast - this is gonna be a task and a half!!

I have a list of questions, from school.. then we have to show our tutors the answers to show we rang!

I like talking to people in person better! That's for sure!

I love doing proffesional phonecalls. Im wierd...

Say something along these lines; usually works for me :

'' hi im Nicky [surname] I will be doing my work experience with you. I was just wondering if i could make some inquiries about my duties and what im required to do on the day, if its not too much trouble. Thank you''

then ask your questions

They weren't on lunch, he was with a customer.. and it was about 10 past 12, so I will ring at about 1.20.. because lunch might be like quarter past till quarter past :3

At least they didn't swear.. while I was on the phone! Tehehehe!

I didn't phone mine. Just went in on the day and resigned on the fourth day.

I did this yesterday!!! I am going to a nursery. I actually can't wait. Seriously If i manage to get a job there it will be the best job ever!!! Everyone is so nice and the manager is my best friends mum!!!


Ok sorry lol. Just ask the questions nickky. They wll like it that you are brave enough and won't think omg freak alert lol! They will probs think its good that you ask questions so its not akward and stufff when you work there lol. If you get me!! x

Still no call! I would have thought they would have finished at 5... maybe they finish at half 5... but they still shouldn't leave it 5 hours to call back!

I know what you mean Annie! I felt like a desperate t*** the 2nd time I rang!

and omg David! That must have been annoying! My brother did that, he did one day at McDonalds and refused to go back!! Why would you wanna do your w.e at Maccies!?

and -.- Nina! Jealous!! I wish mine were all nice... maybe they are, and they've given totally the wrong impression!

I'm actually scared to call back! I don't know if I will ring again, I may go and ask my careers person what to do :3

They didn't call back, that's rude. I think you should just ring them and tell them you need to ask them these questions before the end of the day.
