Make sure your firewall is turned off, right click the torrent your downloading and set high limits and bandwidth, and download torrents with a high number of sources. A recent album with 100 or more sources should only take you around 15 minuets to download. If things are going that bad it might be to do with some internet or connectivity setting on your computer, and not the torrent system itself.

there's no way of speeding it up, it works of leechers and seeders which for albums there is usually very few. Torrents SUCK just download it as a RAR file.

About 100x as long as downloading from RS or something similar.

It's a chance you take. You dont HAVE to do it but it will make you more connectable. It can be turned off from the control panel.

Read the comments on whatever torrent your downloading first. Do it from a site like Mininova. People will tend to post a comment to alert others if the torrent is a dud. But most of the ones with high sources are clean anyway, hence the high volumes of people downloading them. Download from respected uploaders too. Theirs plenty around. Do a search on mininova for 'KLAXXON'. A guy who has uploaded dozens of high quality movie rips that download fast.

Torrents > sites like Rapidshare for security and speed if you know how to use them. And they are great for downloading entire discographys. As long as you are not just looking for the latest lame single from a reality show.
