I was talking to my friend earlier and he said that his mum told him Santa was not real from the age of 3, becase it cost her too much. What do you think of this? I have mixed views really. I Will post them after hearing some of yours

I think its a shame that parents lie to their children and its lasted for generations. When is it going to stop? The lies need to stop!!

This isn't a dbate about whether santa is real. Pmsl. it is a debate about whether his mum should have told him at such a young age

its all a part of the magic telling kids he is real while they are still young enough to enjoy that part of it does not forge a liar in the future

Could we not have this debate in like 5-6 months time when it's relevant?

I kinda figured it out when I was 7.
But I do understand a lot of people who don't do the whole "Santa" thing because they either can't afford it or they don't like "lying" to their children.

My mum or Dad didn't tell me I just grew out of it when I was about 11.
Tbh, I'd be gutted if I found out he wasn't real when I was wee, but It's up to the parents I think if they can afford it and stuff.

I don't understand what you mean so they dont give presents at christmas at all then?
Because if they still do it defeats the objects of saying you can't afford it.

My mum or Dad didn't tell me i just figured it out when i was 8 and i saw mom buying Christmas presents lol. But i don't really think its a good thing to lie to kids, and i don't like the fact that it sort of makes the mum and dad not appreciated and i don't see the magically part of a fat guy in red coming down the chimney lol.
