Create your own custom forum themes

You can now create customised themes to use on the forum, and allow it to be shared with other people also. The way it is at the moment you do have to enter 'hex codes' (eg. #FFFFFF for white) to enter colours. Here is a colour chart - http://html-color-codes.com/

If you don't want to create a theme you can use one that some else has created and shared. (Use a Shared Theme after you activate it).

Here's some brief instructions...

Click on Control Panel

Click Custom Theme

Click the Activate button

Set Use Custom Theme? to Yes and if you want to share your theme 'Do you want to share your custom theme with other users?' to Yes

Click Save (before editing the theme below)

Then under 'Create Your Custom Theme' entering the hex codes for colours, you can link to a background image or logo to a pic hosted at something like imageshack etc. If you want.

With icons you have to select one of the pre-existing image sets rather than create your own.

Make sure Use Custom Theme? is set to Yes

When you copy the colour from the page you gave it comes out differantley. I just tried grren and it came out lilack ?
Where can we get the (#example) style codes ?

The hex codes each have to have 6 letters.

Also you can only use colours and not images at the moment in Top Table Colour and Category Colour. I might change that.

Then select the theme under 'Use a Shared Theme' (bottom of page' and then 'Use theme'.

Anyway, 'Use Custom Theme?' has to be Yes to see other people's themes.

If you mess up or select someone's theme that doesn't look right, click the Reset to Default Theme button and it will reset.

I wouldn't set 'Do you want to share your custom theme with other users?' to Yes until you have got the theme looking right.
