With a series average of 12.35m (52.4%), Britains Got Talent is the most watched reality TV series of the century.

Source atm is wiki, but trying to find a more reliable one now.

Edit ;; "The figures are in - The Britain's Got Talent Grand Final is the most successful TV programme in the country for five years."

Very good for BGT but I doubt it will be able to improve on those figures next year
X Factor 2008 is the second most watched reality series

It was a brilliant series, and the contestants were excellent

On a whole it seems 2008/9 have been very good years for reality TV - Minus BB of course (ironikly)

Since 2007 we've been thinking the reality shows can't get much better ... and we're proven wrong time and time again

Reality TV is gonna reach its peak in the next 2 years I reckon... it is perfect TV at the moment, giving the country hope. But the big numbers will come in soon, then a slow decline...

I dont really count TXF and BGT as 'reality TV', I'd put them under the 'talent show' bracket - as very little of it is reality.
