I know everyone of sick of hearing people coplain about no live feed during the day but I have two very disgruntled 8 year olds gutted that they cannot watch big brother this year. they can't even stay up to watch the night time show because of all the swearing etc so please tell us Big Brother when do the children in this country watch? It's very unfair

Do they still repeat it in the morning?
Thats swear word free and nudity free!

Big Brother isn't really for kids in my view.

I'm in no way conservative, but Big Brother is simply not appropriate for 8 year olds.
GiGi71
05-06-2009, 09:27 PM
that was supposed to say complain....... sorry:flowers:
Dare I say the live feed was great for leaving kids plumped in front of it all day without a care in the world.
*sigh*

I've never allowed my children to watch it and still don't.

They repeat it most mornings
listings (http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsServlet?event=11&broadcastType=1&jspLocation=/jsp/tv_listings_search.jsp&jspError=/jsp/error.jsp&searchString=big%20brother)
In my view, the inclusion of an Irish housemate, and the inability of the Irish Republic to vote this year because Channel 4 were too lazy to fix the lines is an even bigger issue, at least in Ireland, than the damn live feed.
Nobody seems to have thought of that...

I don't see why 8 year olds would be interested in it. When my 10 year old nephew asked what Big Brother was all about, I explained and he replied 'So, it's just people living in a house'. To which i had no reply. lol

I'm not saying it would ruin you Salv, and with all due respect to other parents, I'm just expressing my view as a parent. I don't allow my children to watch it. I don't allow them on the internet unsupervised either.
I'd rather they not learn things about life through TV and Internet.

Wait hold on, Your kids sit there watching live feed? Do they not got bored? Unless they watch it 24/7 they will be missing most of the show anyway.
GiGi71
05-06-2009, 09:34 PM
Thank you Luminis I'll let them watch the swear free nudity free one in the morning. PS: to everyone saying it's not for children..... that was the point I was making, the live feed was suitable for children to watch because they edited it to make it suitable for daytime viewing, but thank you for your opinions, and for making me feel like a bad mother
GiGi71
05-06-2009, 09:37 PM
No, my kids do not just sit in front of the live feed all day, they used to just watch it a little, and they are supervised AND i don't let them on the internet unsupervised. Seems that there are a lot of judgmental people on these forums this year.
Still though, you have no argument. Young kids make up a TINY fraction of the BB audience.

Oh no i didnt mean it like that , the "it didnt ruin me" was a bit of humour, i cant really show how im saying things on here over a computer lol
Its completely fair that you wouldnt let your kids watch, I kind of support that, i mean 8 year olds shouldnt watch because it is rude especially the language and nudity.

That's ok Salv..
GiGi : I was not insinuating you were a bad mother. I was merely expressing my own personal viewpoint. Nobody tells me how to raise my children, and I wouldn't dream of telling you how to raise yours.

Yeah but even so, if they watch a little a day they can't be missing much. I'm not being judgemental i just dont see the point of making a big deal out of something not worth making a big deal out of.

I think it's fine for 8 year olds to watch it, I remember watching it at that age, I wasn't fazed by the nudity or swearing, I'd seen it all before anywhere. Tbh it is everywhere these days BB isn't really the worst of it.

But you opened the thread, I am assuming, to discuss or argue your point about this in some way right? An I am just saying the Big Brother audience is mostly teennagers and upwards. Channel 4 would not even consider kids when discussing schedueling of the show!

Ireland aren't part of the UK, so I guess it's not a hugee deal that they can't vote for BBUK, whether or not it's aired over there. Dunno, I guess it's debateable.

You just defeated your own argument. It is aired over here. We share the same Big Brother culture. It is a huge deal over here the same as in Britain. The Welsh & Scottish can vote, I am assuming. Really, it is just lazy on the part of Channel 4 which is my beef. If Noirin got to the final with an Irish vote in place, they would get massive support from over here like Brian did in series 2. Now we just have to sit back and watch.

Here you go Stu... evertime I or anyone equaly as sensitive as me accuses you of arguing you could just post this for us, I completely get your use of the word argumentmeaning discussion now lol
Argument
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Logical argument)
This article is about the word as it is used in logic. For other uses, see Argument (disambiguation).
In logic, an argument is a set of one or more meaningful declarative sentences (or "propositions") known as the premises along with another meaningful declarative sentence (or "proposition") known as the conclusion. A deductive argument asserts that the truth of the conclusion is a logical consequence of the premises; an inductive argument asserts that the truth of the conclusion is supported by the premises. Deductive arguments are valid or invalid, and sound or not sound. An argument is valid if and only if the truth of the conclusion is a logical consequence of the premises and (consequently) its corresponding conditional is a necessary truth. A sound argument is a valid argument with true premises.

Not really. You mean to say you'd just vote for Noirin cos she's from the same place as you? It's not like any other candidates are getting that so why should she.
The English don't vote for the English cos they're English and the foreigners don't get votes from their countries so I don't see the big deal with Noirin.
However of course not all Irish will vote Noirin ;)

I was 10 going on 11 during the first Big Brother and I only started watching it then because I had a computer to watch live streaming on and a portable in my room to watch till I fell asleep.

I didn't. I just read the first two or three posts. Was the OP being sarcastic? If so, shouldn't someone tell them it doesn't work on the web .
EDIT - Ah. Just read. How can your kids enjoy the daytime feed OP? It was non-stop bird noises most of the time and the housemates going about choirs. Enjoyable if your mature enough to understand why it's like that, have patience and are a big enough fan to sit through the bird noises, but surely a bit dull if your 8? I have trouble getting my neice to sit through it when I baby sit and she's not much older.
