Admin... do you think accounts which are over a year old and have no posts should be removed to make way for people to have those usernames?
They probably don't want them removed because it makes the forum look better if it has more members but they should definitely change their usernames if they don't bother coming on. Its a bit unfair otherwise

I can see where they're coming from, because it is possible for old members to come back after a period of time.
I think exceptions should be made though; like if they have no posts and if they haven't logged in since registering.

Even if you removed the 'never posted' accounts, there'd still be a massive database of users.
I figured it was worth suggesting.. :)

Yes its annoying if a member that has no posts and come on to this site onetime has a name you want so yes i think they should be removed

It's only a username, if you want one just add a full stop at the end of your name or something.

this has been brought up before, they said the reason they don't do it is because for some, if you're not signed up you cant view the forum, so a lot of people sign up and just lurk.

By inactive I get that they've made none or little posts.
Plus Angie's account is still active, her daughter still does the football thing

I read have made no more posts
On another forum I used; they did this, any users with 0 posts accounts got deleted; but on the forum itself it had a warning (where Mark's message about text speech is) that accounts would be deleted on a certain date and to either private message the admin saying you wanted to keep your account, or post in the forum so that you weren't on the list; and anyone who read the message after their account was deleted could sign up again.

YEah! i raised it a while back that only half the registered users on here had posted, the other half had not.
I think it would be a really good idea! it would clear up the forum a bitty me thinks! more of a choice of username!
