Hello everybody that has cared enough to open this thread, this is my first post (well in this forum) and my fifth Big Brother (uninteresting fact - I have thousands of them).

I have been reading this forum for a few days now, lurking in the background, and whilst I don't normally post for a few weeks into the season (I like to get to know them first) I am getting into this season suprisingly early, I feel that this does have the potential to become a good year, I feel its a good mix and have already grown somewhat tired about the amount of threads about how this is a bad year and not watching, whilst I never used to watch the online live feed (I work nights so sleep when they're awake, this also means I watch the repeat in the morning and miss out on all the fun swearing) the feed no longer being present whilst must be annoying for some it passes me by, I just cant see why people are moaning about its loss when we still have E4 and highlights, whilst I agree there has been very bad editing in the past (and I don't expect this to change this year) I actually wonder how many of you still make your minds up on who to vote watching rather than on intial support for or against a particular housemate. Personally Im a cheapskate that doesn't vote, mostly as if I did I'd vote once whilst knowing that people vote 10, 20 plus times which is hardly fair (still think one vote one viewer would be better....but).

Also out of the people who think its bad, and are saying you won't watch I have to ask, why do you still post on the forum (Im not saying you shouldnt), what would you like to be different, and do you think the majority agree with those viewpoints. The more I watch the more I get drawn in (in days not hours per day) do you think you'll keep watching.

I will watch until it gets boring (and lets face it, the first weeks (and the last) are always the worst in my opinion). So can't we just get past the dissapointment and try and enjoy it whilst we still can. It wont last forever and it still beats most of the stuff on TV.

Supporting no-one to win, but will still waste the time until its over....

Thanks (ps. love the ban on text speak)

I'm similar to you in that I reserve judgement on how good/bad the series is going to be until it's a good few weeks in.

I've never watched the live feed for several reasons, although I do think it's a shame it's gone, because it was important to the concept of the show in my view.

I only ever watched the HLs and read the opinions online from forums and news stories. So, I got the condensed version of the live feed that way.

There are a lot of people angry about the removal of the 'red button' option etc, and I think that's why there seems to be a lot of posters on here and on other forums who are ranting about how rubbish the show is.

I'm hoping that within the next few weeks one of two things will happen. Either they'll bring back the live feed to satisfy the viewers who do want it, or it will blow over and people will just enjoy the series for what it is.

I doubt the latter will happen, so I'm not holding my breath.

Welcome to the forum. You seem like the kind of person I would like to talk to. :D

Nice to meet you OP. Ive watched them all from the start. I did watch lots of LF and that's how I formed my opinions of HMs. I'm not often swayed on my opinions of HMs by what others say although I do enjoy hearing others opinions.

I agree the first and last weeks are the worst and I also change my opinions of HMs over the first couple of weeks.

I think it's a good mix of HMs this year and look forward to seeing how it developes.

Oh Yes - I'm also pleased about the ban on text speak

Thank you lili and BJ for the responses, theres always that fear that when you post a thread it will just fall to the bottom as no-one posts and you start to fear you have nothing of any worth, to which the shameless self-bump which you always feel bad about doing.

I have a nasty feeling too that this won't just blow over, and that a certain few will keep being negative about it (but they still seem to be watching?), especially with the constant predictions of its death, but then it doesnt help when people keep saying its dead.

If I were a producer reading these pages and all the people keep saying they're not watching then why bother putting the feed back on, they aren't watching already so it's no loss. Will they come back if its on in a few weeks?

Like the threads of 1.9m viewers (well I was at work, so it's more like 1,900,001 really, I'm important too), it might be low figures but how many cared who got evicted, we don't even know them yet.

Having never seen the live-feed via the red button, did it give you access to certain rooms or was it just like the E4 feed. As then you still only see what they want you to in that sense.

I have found in the past that watching each day you build up an idea of that person and one or two bad highlight shows won't change it, we all have bad days, and are often out of character without the pressure of the house. Also, I often think to my own life for similar characters than that of the housemates and compare them as well.

Anyway, bed calls, so until later.
