Tonights the big night for Eurovision fans so I thought I'd start a thread so we can talk about the show whilst it's on!

Here's an article about Javine.....

Euro Javine is jinxed

JAVINE will battle a painful throat infection as she sings for Britain in tonight’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The Jav-a-go hero’s bug was diagnosed only yesterday after she complained of stabbing pains and a husky voice.

Ya Im gutted that Ireland got knocked out cos tbh the song was very well done honestly. The voting is unfair....all this block voting and stuff is just stupid, whoever is suffereing from it should just pull out.

Like last year the UK suffered from it,withj James Fox,he deserved o do better!

Here we go an article on last nights show.........

Javine fizzles out in Eurovision

UK entrant Javine Hylton had a dismal night at the Eurovision Song Contest as her song Touch My Fire failed to spark voters' interest.

The 23-year-old Girls Aloud reject scraped only 18 points in the voting and came third from last.

Greece took first place with Elena Paparizou's song My Number One scoring 230 points.

Javine almost rivalled the UK's entry for 2003, when Jemini rose to fame for being the group which scored nil points for the UK for the first time.

This year's contest, which is the 50th anniversary of the competition, was hosted on BBC 1 by Terry Wogan in his traditional role.

As Javine failed to score he said: "It's extraordinary. The voting is all over the place.

"We are languishing at the bottom of the pile with nil points - not again."

The UK entry was eventually raised from the bottom of the table by eight points from Ireland and finally totalled 18.

Javine, who was second to perform, had feared an inflamed throat which developed this week would affect her performance.

However, she made a valiant effort to belt out her song, which she had co-written with John Themis.

She wore a short gold dress designed by Luke Hall and decorated with crystals.

an western european country probably wont win again, due to the new phone voting system where people vote for there neighbours.

it was better with the old voting system, wheree they had a panel of experts.

Spain, France and Germany all seemed to do as badly as us in the voting. It seems that the countries that qualify automatically don't receive any votes!
