SOPHIE THE SUBSTITUTE
THIS is the beautiful brunette being drafted into Big Brother as a love rival to Kate Lawler.

Sophie, 24, will join the nine contestants in the house at 1.30pm today.

The recruitment consultant is set to be a knockout with the house's men - because like 22-year-old Kate she is a big kick-boxing fan.

Five foot 10 inches Sophie was chosen from a group of 12 hopefuls on standby to join the programme after Sunita Sharma, 25, sensationally walked out of the house on Thursday.

A Big Brother insider said: "Sophie is absolutely stunning.

"She will cause a massive stir in the house because of the way she looks and her personality.

"She is really bubbly and full of self-confidence, although you never know if that will be a good or bad thing for her.

"All the others know each other and have bonded.

"A new girl like Sophie is bound to ruffle a few feathers.

"She should be pretty popular with the boys, but I'm not sure how well the girls will take to her.

"They may find her a bit threatening."

Sophie will enter the specially-built house at Elstree, Hertfordshire bearing a gift for the current housemates.

Although contestants have guessed Sunita will be replaced, they will not be warned about the new arrival.

The latest surprise move by TV bosses comes just two days after they stunned housemates with the first eviction.

Lynne Moncrieff, 36, became the first to leave Big Brother after a vote-off with Jade Goody, 20.

Sophie, who has said she will miss her mum's cooking and "give her mother back what she has given me" if she wins the £70,000 prize, will be aware of the fate of last year's surprise entrant to the house.

Gay Josh Rafter, 33, joined series two in a shock move after the first eviction.

He failed to bond with fellow contestants...and was voted out four weeks later.

But Josh was left with the last laugh after making £70,000 from deals linked to his short-lived spell in the spotlight.

Sophie will be exempt from next Friday's eviction and will not be able to nominate or be nominated in the first week. The Big Brother contestants narrowly escaped a week of bread and water last night, by passing this week's showbiz quiz.

-BITTER reject Lynne Moncrieff yesterday attacked the housemates who voted her out.

Lynne, 36, accused them of stabbing her in the back, and admitted: "I am a bit hurt but that feeling will go - I am quite thick-skinned."

The mature student branded Spencer Smith, 22, "smelly", accused model Alex Sibley, 23, of acting like an "old woman" and called 20-year-old Jade Goody a "baby".

"Spencer is arrogant and lazy and smells of bad feet and roll-up fags," she said. "And Alex is an old woman and needs to lighten up."

But the outspoken Scot, from the village of Buckie, admitted a string of alcohol-fuelled rows in the house had not helped her cause. "I needed to loosen up and I did, but maybe too much."

More than 300,000 viewers voted for Lynne to leave. Half-a-million wanted to evict Jade, but the nine other housemates saved her by all voting against Lynne.

I was just talking to Kaz on MSN and I realised that the reason that I am looking forward to Sophie giong into the house so much is I am desperate for someone to like in there. :spin2:

At the moment there is not one housemate I relate to, not one that I can honestly say that I like.

I sooo want Sophie to be nice.

Smelly Spencer????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Spencer, he's so laid back, and quite funny in a dry way! I actually also think that him and Kate make a sweet couple - didn't she sleep in his bed last night??

Spencer is the main person I've warmed to though - I see what you mean about needing someone to like LEE - why not join the Spencer fan club???
:spin::hugesmile:

Maybe you'll enjoy it more as it goes on, and as you warm to them more. It'll be easier when there are fewer.

I am on retainer to the Jade campaign as a Cyber Devil's Advocate

Though by the look of things this may be a short lived appointment :bawling:

According to BBLB Kate has already shown the signs of being threatened.

I too had a brief moment of pleasure seeing the distaste and suspicion on the face of duplicitous Kate.

God knows, this shower have given me few moments of pleasure so far. I hope Sophie changes the tone a little, brings it up to maybe cess pit level

Perhaps she can lead then in communal hymn singing later

Of course Sophie is very pretty, but I will reserve judgement on my overall opinion of her until she has been in a few days.

I was impressed by the way she threw herself into the group last night.

One little thing from the Sunday Mirror article that Sticks posted about Josh not fitting in last time. After Josh came in last time, Paul, Narinder, Bubble, and Amma all got nominated before he did. The housemates really rejected Josh didn't they?

Sophie seems ok so far - anyone that Kate may feel uneasy about is ok with me:spin2:

To be honest, I hope the housemates nominate her at the earliest opportunity so the public can vote her out.

Bringing in replacements just does not work because they have been watching the show, and know how the contestants have been coming across.

Sophie knows not to 'do a Lynne', for example, and get on the wrong side of Spencer, because she know he is popular with the public.

Coming in late means that she has a tactical advantage in the game.

The only way replacements could be successful is if all twelve of them were taken abroad to seperate locations, and isolated from media coverage about UK Big Brother.
But I suppose that would be too costly and impractical.

Now I have seen Sophie a bit longer I think "boring"...

I was suspicious of Kate at first, because I thought she may use her looks to her advantage, but the more I see her the more genuine I think she is. She knows how to have fun and she is keeping us entertained.

As for Sophie, we have a palm reader to add to the two body-builders... I think Lee, Adele and Sophie are going to form the Boring faction!

I agree Old git, i may be one of only a few, but I think Kate is lovely, and genuine.
Sophie's ok, but she hasn't inspired me much at all.

Also, a lot of people are slagging Kate off, saying she is jealous of Sophie, and she didnt greet her etc, but I was watching it, and she did; she got up, she introduced herself, she hasn't slagged her off, she said she was pretty, and she doesnt seem (to me) to be off with Sophie at all. Have I missed something?

I noticed Kate get up, I think the reports are trying to exaggerate bad feelings, to spice it up for the public.

I still think Sophie is boring, though!

Silly Sophie is like a wet weekend....she is boring and bland with very little hope of improving! She seems pleasant enough as a person, but she irritates me.

Mind you, Sophie nominated Alex and Sandy last week, so she can't be all bad!

I wonder if Alex knows?

Not as much as the meteorite that came down the following week and flattented the entire complex.

Oh we could but dream although that was the scenario for the first aid task in BB2.

BTW I see the archives are being plundered again

So an overseas station is re-running BB3. What is that sound I hear, something like thew action of a metal tool making a longitudinal forth and back motion on the inside surfave of the base of a wooden cylindrical container, fabricated for the storage of an ethanol infused compound. :joker::laugh:
