Leaving her young children for a possible three months?

I think she's absoloutely crazy leaving a 7-month-old and her older child for a possible three months. I'd NEVER do it. Would you?!

You're missing the point, she's a single parent and legal guardian of her kids.

And maybe the dad is taking care of them? If not, I would assume her parents. 3 months in a total of 18 + years is no big deal, especially when it will bring money into their lives.
