Just a quick message guys...

I've come up with an idea, but it'll only work if lots of people do it, and I mean LOTS!!!

Send an complaint to c4 about lack of live feed, then in it state that if the Live Feed is not re-instated by 16/06/09 (1 week) Then we will switch off.

Send an email (go on, it only takes a couple of minutes!!) and spread the word!!!

It's The Viewers Ultimatum!

We are now judging the Hm's on the highlights which is selectively edited, but at least on the LF you did get a better idea of what the HM's were really like and some were very different to how the highlights portrayed them
I feel without the LF the bb bosses can make people appear different to how they really are and favour certain people

A very good idea, but 1 small drawback, I think ch4 want rid of BB and less viewers would be all they need :devil:

But you have to think about this, past HMs Lesley, Aisleyne, Gerry, Dan and Dale have all been disgusted by the feed being removed. Also Davina is now backing the live feed to come back, with all these ex hms, surely C4 will get the message, i mean even Davina wants it back now.

Mmm... i do think that Davina does have the freedom to say to C4 that she wants it back because if ratings keep decreasing she gets less money doesnt she? i think as the presenter her views should be considered.

Defenitley Not for financial issues, thats already been established. If it was financially why did they spend thousands of £s on the DR chair, im sure that was £5,000-£7,000 to produce... that was leaked on the newspapers, on te BB websitem everywhere.

Because showing a non stop program is expensive ? It's not free you know, it's an investment. They had to make cuts, day live feed is one of them. Yous till have night live feed when a lot of things happen.

It was on a website late last night.
But apparenntly that was fake as well... all this false info is getting to me. But dont worry everyones still signing, phoning up, emailing and complaining everywhere (on about 3 of the other forums ive been on). They arent giving up until they bring it back, so C4 is going to deal with thousands more complaints... im sure C4 will give up when their list of complaints gets too high.

I actually can't believe we're even having to discuss this and campaign for it to come back. It should never have left in the first place, it's the core element of the show. It's just stupid that we're having to waste our time doing all of this.

To me it actually feels like Big Brother isn't really on, does anyone else know what I mean?

I mean the housemates are great, I think this series is going to be fantastic, but it just feels... I don't know, empty. It has to be just down to the fact that there's only the highlights, and we're 6 days in and it just doesn't feel right.

But I don't think C4 will be changing their minds, at the end of the day it's just a few thousand people on the internet, they'll continue to send out their pathetic generic emails to everyone and they don't really have anything else to worry about. I mean the ratings don't seem to be bothering them, and personally I think they've given up now anyway.

I personally think Friday is the crunch day. If the viewing figures for the live eviction are really poor, that's the time they'll decide to take action (if they're ever going to).

I agree completely, they shouldnt even have considered axing it at all.

I think C4 could actually change their minds, i know that the LF going isnt the only thing for the decrease of ratings (its lack of news and no good looking men for girls to tune in as well) but the "only a few thousands of fans" that watched the LF actually has made a very drastic decrease to the ratings.

I dont think C4 knew what a drastic decrease of ratings BB would get, so i think there could be a little hope. We know for sure that it will come back if the ratings drop beneath the slot average (which almost happened on Sunday, was only 100,000 up slot average).

They have already sold the advertising space for the entire run, so no point in not watching... you wont be hurting them at all, just BB iteself when some decent station hopefully looks at it to pick it up from the end of it's contract.

If you feel like C4 have betrayed you, the viewer, the ones that have helped them generate massive revenue from the show over the past 10 years, DO NOT PAY TO VOTE.

They have already had enough of our voting coin, and our public money. Enough is enough. Enjoy the show, as much as able, use C4's website and other resources, but don't give them a penny. Thats my advice anyhow.

Oh, and yeah, I am definitly NOT seeing the 'resources' saved being shown elsewhere. I do NOT feel informed or part of the whole experience like I usually do. I have no emotional investment in the HMs at all this year. I havent even bothered laying a bet due to not having the real basis to form my own opinion about them all. To be honest the Decline of Big Brother, has all revolved around the Live feed, In every series the Live feed got gradually worse. I remember one (i forget which :P) which let you choose what camera you wanted to look through (i am not 100% certain though) you then got the live Feed from BB9, which was basically 'Bird Noise'. Now we have none and the Ratings are slipping further.

Channel 4 needs to wake, up before i do something :P

With no live feed, the series is so dis-jointed! One example is the other night the live feed started and Shree had been hurt by a skipping rope but they never mentioned it at on the edit show to show what actually happened...

LF kept BB (more) honest. Without it they are having a field day editing to present their own agenda. It's pathetic.

Even if you didnt watch it 24/7 it was a valuable resource for the community through live updaters and unofficial clips. It fed the fans and made BB seem more like an 'experience' rather then just a crap scripted soap opera that you feel you have missed 3 episodes of every time you turn it on because so much has happened that isnt shown.

Add to this the nazi like menatallity of the official site in their deleting posts that they don't like and the 'reality' of BB is non-existant. C4 have truly lost sight of what made BB great and despite the actual HMs being brilliant this year the show is dying.

Can you imagine how good this years would have been with full open honest support by C4?

I am also definitly NOT seeing where the resources have been 're-directed' to... unless you call paying pointless nobodies from shows past to edit the main site (just to promote themselves) and having irrelevant celebraties, who obviously have no idea about the UK BB, like BoyzIIMen on BBLB that?

The C4 Top Brass don't want this show and havent for years. C4 also have been talking about how to get rid of it and replace the money it makes for years. They don't want BB, no matter how much you do, and because of that they are willing to kill the show.

Some elements within C4 used to be able to defend it due to the massive revenue it earnt.

It no longer earns this revenue, so noone can any longer defend it's existance.

C4 are now misrepresenting it's viewing figures, cutting it's funding, and generally running BB into the ground in order to justify it's termination.

They have simply given up on BB and are just going through the motions to fulfil contractural obligations.

Fans be damned. They have made their money off you now. Screw you.

I always considered Ch4 to be a decent channel!!! Fair enough if they don't want Big Brother anymore but that's no reason to murder it. Why didn't they make the most of going out on a high for the 10th series??? And then leave it to another channel to take up the reins.

Glad I'm not the only one. I am bored stiff during the day (I have my reasons) and that was the time I watched live feed the most. I think their reasons for not doing it this year were not real and they are just trying to save money.

Very short sighted of the programmers. It's not the same this year as we don't get to see what is going on for the majority of the time. I'm a great fan and have watched each year but....bit boring this year without the live feed. If they want to get rid of the programme this seems a good start, I know alot of people less interested this year because of the lack of viewing time.

I don't actually watch live feeds. In the past I might seen a tad of footage in the passing, but I think they should bring it back pronto. I believe it is a large part of the reason that the viewership has sunk low..

I wonder what the housemates will say about once they leave the house... depending on how they have been potrayed on the edited shows. Lisa, Kris & Karly could argue that BB has shown them in a good light and it has made Halfwit look like an angel.

I'm not justifing their actions, I'm just saying that this it what they will come up with and blame it if they don't win Big Brother.

Scrapping the live feed was a stupid decision,It just isn't the same without it,For the real fans one hour highlight show and a bit of action at night time,If you're lucky there not just getting in bed as the feed comes on,Is just simply not enough,You cannot connect with the house mates properly,And i'm sick of seeing and hearing things on the highlight show and thinking i had no idea about that,We are missing out on so much.

Channel 4 is just using the economic environment as a excuse to cut back.
The top guy said last year that channel 4 is going to phase out reality tv and did not like big brother being the most popular channel 4 program.
So i believe they are trying to kill the show off taking away the heart of the show.

To be honest, I wasn't ever that into the channel 4 highlight shows, I was however addicted to the live feed on E4, just having it in the background while I cleaned the house, ate, worked (uni work that is). Not having the live feed makes it feel like its a crap series this year.

It has been a dull year but maybe that's because of the lack of live feed and excessive editing? On the other hand maybe we should be grateful NOT to pay out for the live feed this year due to it being an incredibly dull year?

Who knows ? All I know is that I used to love watching when I wanted and the edited highlights give an extremely distorted view of what is really going on. Live feed gave us the chance to decide truth/fiction for ourselves but it also gave complainers ammunition to whinge and moan about.

It's not really live feed though is it?

There's about 5 channels with 'BB live' on and there's occasionally a few blatently at different times of the day.

If they're going to do it they can at least edit it better so we're not watching flowers or a spider web.

It feels weird without the live feed however you can watch most of the best bits on the internet or wait for the show. I quite like staying up untill 11-12 it's quite relaxing watching BB at that time apart from most the housemates are in bed apart from they stay up most of the time on Fridays and Saturdays.

Big Brother gave them a party, and it wouldn't let us see any of it because it was censored throughout.
They show it uncensored when it's on at 10pm, so why not at 2am?!

BB Censors out the sound because...

1. They are talking about the outside world
2. They are singing
3. There is music on
4. They talk about Friends/Family

I dunno if this has been said already as i haven't read the entire thread but why couldn't they just have brought back the internet feed from the earlier series to replace the lost live TV feed?

Maybe they are doing it so that we don't know when they manipulate the highlights to show housemates looking good when they aren't really.

its about time some people got a grip and got over it the live feed is gone for financial reasons not enough people watched it to make it viable have you not noticed there are no adverts during the little live feed we still have just c4/e4 promos during the break. why on earth would they show live feed which was attracting 30k to 60k veiwers and no advertising revenue when they can show friends repeats and attract 250k+ veiwers and have people wanting to spend money on advertising with them its a no brainer! imagine if it was your company which route would you rather take the one that left you out of pocket or the one that made you money!! duhhhhhh.

C4 are trying to force viewers onto their website to watch lovely adverts , that's their main focus this year

Does it really matter if all the live feed threads have been merged into one? As long as I can express my view I dont care where it goes. Anyway its only going to be the same as nearly everyone else on here. Axing the live feed sucks and makes me really suspicious that C4 dont have any real committment to BB anymore. Its almost as if they are just going through the motions until their contract expires and they can axe the programme completely. The live feed made the programme, without it its impossible to really get into the show and feel like you really know the housemates. If they do axe it lets hope a more responsible broadcaster takes it over and gives it back the committment it deserves.
