but i'm mature enough to understand and accept C4 have made a decision and won't be going back on it.

What is interesting about live feed... is that you really see the real picture and not the one BB wants you to see when the evening show is edited.
I loved live feed... and BB is not the same to me without it.I think by not having it C4 are in danger of losing many of its regular viewers.
Live feed the only way of getting the real picture.

The live feed is also edited heavily, fool. Most of it is blocked out if there are tasks anyway. There was even one incident before I heard when the production staff at George Lucas stuck the ambient sounds on and blocked images on the livefeed while they went down the local for a few pints. It is also aired with a 15 minute delay, so anything the producers don't want you to hear or see, they block it. So therefore it doesn't matter if you watch the live feed or the highlights show, it is still what the producers want you to see.

I personally haven't ever watched live feed. My kids are usually around during the day so 1) I'm too busy to watch it.. 2) I don't think it's suitable for kids.. and 3) I would get bored watching it.

I've always liked that it was there, cuz you could get a sense of what you missed by talking to people online who do watch it.

I don't think I'll miss it but a lot of people obviously do, so I think it's a shame their voice isn't being heard by the people who make the decisions.

It's not that I ever watched it. But it's fact that it was there if I wanted to. The essence of BB is 24/7 and now we don't have that. We can't make our full opinions about people only having a few hours of live feed and an edited highlighted show to watch.

Other people watched it,they put what went on and you could make your opinion on someone based on everything,not half a show. And I'll miss watching LF on YT-I watched more BBLF on YT last year than I watched highlight shows.

It's a hourly version based upon the production teams edits that will produce the winner. I feel like I am watching a foreign version where I can't get a good link for live feed.

I'll take it because I like watching other countries Big Brothers, but it's hardly the format we all know and love. Come on Sky or BBC take it off their hands as quick as you can.

Youtube and MSN to deliver footage to Big Brother fans to keep them fully up

Because they're a business and sometimes, business have to take cutbacks they don't nessescarily want to. Heard of the credit crunch? Perhaps C4 can't afford to hold a red button option because of it.

bb is just one of many tv shows i view if and when i have spare tme, my beef with channel 4 is how there are treating fans of there so called ; flagship show; ok ratings are now falling, but channel 4 have done very well from bb in the past. fans have stuck with the show, time channel 4 treated these fans with some respect, if they are winding down show,just say so, not end of world no live feed but if they putting show on that depends on viewers interaction then please treat viewers properly, theres been so much fuss in past about how different shows on tv have mislead viewers over tv voting etc, of course its all about making money but to do this they need to provide a service to public

Right, this is my opinion on it, as some people have mentioned, it wasn't that I would watch it 24/7, but it was there when I wanted it, and today has been one of those days in which I've wanted it, I've been bored shitless and would have loved to have watched a bit of Live Feed to pass some time.

I for one though, wouldn't actually moan on about it being axed for the rest of the series if the times it were shown on E4 were actually fair, and C4 are being completely unfair and pathetic by just showing it during the night.

Not only is the times they've scheduled it during the week completely unfair, it's also ridiculous, because for the people who have school and have to be up early for work in the morning, aren't going to be wasting their time staying up till 1am to watch it. They moaned that it wasn't getting enough viewers for them to keep running it, yet it's hardly going to get anymore at 1am on a weekday morning.

Like I've said, if C4 had some sense and actually respected some of their viewer's opinions on it, then I wouldn't be moaning about it for the rest of the series. All they'd have to do for me to be happy is a schedule like this:

Weekends: (taken from tomorrow's schedule on E4)
13:15 - 15:05: BB Live (replacing Joan of Arcadia double bill)
15:05: BBLB Repeat
16:05: Ghost Whisperer
17:00 - 18:00: BB Live (replacing Friends which will be repeated between 20:00 and 21:00 anyway :rolleyes:)
...and so on, until 23:00 or whenever they want to show the night streaming.

Weekdays:
17:00 - 18:00: BB Live (which would be a perfect time for people coming home from school and work)
18:00 - 18:30: BBLB
...and so on, until the night's streaming.

I'd be perfectly happy with that, and I don't see why it's not possible, because as I've mentioned most of what's on E4 during the day is repeats, and especially Friends, which has the same two episodes on again 2 hours later.

This'll never happen though, C4 won't listen to anything we have to say, Red Button has gone, and what's done is done, nothing is changing, unfortunately.

I don't see why Channel 4 can't just put the secret channel back on. They say its cause last year we all went onto the website more, BOLL*CKS!
They just WANT us to go onto the website more and they want to cut the budget so have decided to say "oh well ratings went down last year"
& I just don't believe that argument - who would want to watch a 3 minute video clip which takes about 40 seconds to load when they can just press the red button?

Also, why cut the live feed on E4 during the day. FAIR ENOUGH get rid of the red button, but at least keep Big Brother on E4 during the day. They only show repeats of Roswell or Gillmore Girls anyway, that can't pull in many ratings at all.

Its clear to me that Channel 4 just wanted to cut costs so thought cutting live feed was the answer - they just never expected us to get so bloody mad about it. Well its backfired on them, and I'm glad. Channel 4 are running this show into the ground - how can we make a judgement on 16 housemates, and pick our favourites when theres only a 50 minute show each day? The Live feed is SUCH an important part of Big Brother because it helps US pick our own favourites - and with no live feed the Highlight shows could just be edited to make one housemate look bad, one look good, and basically control our judgements upon the housemates.

I've signed the petition and I think in about 2 weeks time Channel 4 will HAVE to act, they are getting about 300 emails a day all complaining about the situation.

Channel 4 and Big Brother producers Endemol are reportedly preparing for a crisis meeting being held tomorrow.

Well, C4+1 figures aren’t quite in yet and let’s not forget that they’re not official, but overnight ratings for the tenth run of BB haven’t been setting the world alight… and we’re not the only ones to notice it.

Channel 4 are reportedly in a complete frenzy about this series of BB, and are rumoured to meet with producers Endemol tomorrow for a huge crisis meeting about ratings and the live feed axe.

C4 have been bombarded with complaints since it was revealed the live feed red button option was axed for BB10, and a source said that Endemol are not happy at all with their decision.

Neither, by the looks of it, is Davina. On her official Twitter - ThisisDavina - our favourite host said she had spoken to the head people at C4 after a lot of people contacted her.

They told her it was axed because nobody was watching, and she advised fans to sign a petition, as Channel 4 will “listen to feedback”. So, come on fans, listen to Davina! If you want to sign the petition, click here.

Extra 2 hours in the morning. 6am-8am. Not good enough IMO but as I said elsewhere...

This is Channel 4 behaving like a spoiled child.

They are trying to see how far they can push both us and Endemol. It will all end in tears and believe me, it won't be for us.

Channel 4 cannot afford to buy out the contract cancellation therefore canning the show mid-way through the series would not be an option for them.

If however this did happen, someone else who would be willing to give us viewers what we have always had (somewhat) up until now, would pick up the show in quick timing.

If I was the E4 scheduler I would schedule the live feed like this:
10:00am - 12:00pm
3:00pm - 4:00pm
11:00pm - 6:00am

Just a few extra hours wouldn't hurt the channel ratings and would please some of people upset over the whole live feed thing

I didn't think I would miss the LF, but I do. When i'm not at work I want to watch them during the day, like I did last year! Its such a shame, and I hope Channel 4 bring it back, as its my favorite Channel who show the best mix of programs.

I emailed channel 4 and enquired as to why the live feed wasnt offered on pay for view or something like that,all i got as a respose was this

The red button 24-hour streaming facility was discontinued prior to the last series of CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER and we have no plans to reintroduce this service for the current edition of BIG BROTHER.

The main reason behind this decision is that we?ve found the number of viewers choosing to use the red button facility has dropped significantly and more and more viewers chose to watch the clips provided on the official Big Brother and other websites. So we have shifted our resources to cover these areas and have new fanzones, on Twitter and Facebook as well as our own site, and we?ll also be working extensively with partners such as bebo, youtube and MSN to deliver footage to Big Brother fans to keep them fully up to date with what?s happening in the house.

However, live streaming will be available on both E4 and Channel 4 late night/early morning and we will be showing all the other great shows that make up the BIG BROTHER experience, like BIG BROTHER'S LITTLE BROTHER AND BIG BROTHER'S BIG MOUTH.

I think with the live feed, the problem is probably because you're not paying for it, but there was no option to - And, problems with Ofcom etc and Cairon's use of ***** and bananas up his arse... Maybe they're afraid of another backlash, like the Jade -> .........Thinking of her name..... Okay, it's gone, but that thing.


You really think BB will be axed due to no live feed? They still get a tonne of watchers for their daily 9/10pm show, and their main funds probably don't come from internet live feeds/views - Because you don't get acknowledged for watching it.


This axe stuff is seemingly fake - And until I see proof, viable proof, I won't believe it. The only reason they coulda' closed the live feed is because of the lack of payment for it. You're effectively stealing tv? idk.

Now let's get onto pressing matters... the live feed:

We have been aware for months that live feed was not returning for BB. Channel 4 were satisfied with how CBB6 went earlier this year and felt that the live feed service was not needed for this summer.

Ultimately it's Channel 4's call. We (Endemol) want the live feed to continue as it's an essential part of Big Brother. We have always maintained that viewpoint and still do to this day.

However Channel 4 decided to discontinue the service for numerous reasons. Firstly, they are correct that less viewers were watching it compared to before. On the specific red button we would receive less than 10,000 viewers a lot of the time, although the E4 coverage would peak at a quarter of a million on most days.

Endemol tried our hardest to retain the feed by explaining that it's a core part of the concept and that raw viewing figures should not be only considered when making a decision.

There are other reasons the C4 discontinued the service, which are very complicated. Some of you might be aware that Channel 4's financial situation is not the best and the broadcaster are seeking a share of the license fee under recommendations from Ofcom. This however means that Big Brother has to take a backseat. Cutting coverage is one of the consequences unfortunately.

But so be it. The team have known this for a while, and we've worked hard to provide you a fantastic lineup of housemates, a stunning house and exciting twists.

As a production, we think the show has gone well so far. But obviously there has been a lot of negativity surrounding the show especially from you the fans. The main issue being no live feed of course.

The ratings have come in and the first couple of days were good. The launch especially was a success. But as you all know, it's not gone well since. (May I just add that I think some people are analysing the ratings too much. It's a Channel 4/Endemol matter, and it's not as easy to analyze these things as you make it out to be. There's other factors as well that are taken into account which I won't go into right now).

So anyways, Saturday and Sunday wasn't too good and a meeting happened yesterday between the people at the top of both Brighter Pictures and Channel 4. It was to discuss various things, one topic being the live feed which has led to a huge number of complaints recently. This was not a "crisis meeting".

From what I've been told, we tried to explain to Channel 4 about the concerns we had over the negative publciity the brand was getting. And how important this issue was to many people. Then of course we tried to negotiate certain things, including the return of the live feed.

I wasn't at the meeting, as I'm not high up but things get told over here. Yesterday late afternoon, I was told from another member of production that the meeting had gone well and that Channel 4 agreed in principal to bring the red button service back. We were absolutely delighted at the time and that's why I wrote it on here in my joy.

However, since then there have been some contractual issues which have come to light, meaning that the red button may not return. A situation like this can get very complex due to the sheer amount of work involved and numbers involved, so that's why certain things have changed since my announcement yesterday.

At this present moment, things are still in the air about what's going on. No one actually knows what is going to happen, and let's say that there is some bad feeling between us. However this does not affect how we work as a production, we still put 100% into everything we do to provide the viewers with the best experience.

So to cut things short: I'm sorry to say that at this present time it looks like Live Feed won't be coming back.

But please continue with all your complaints and petitions. The people at Channel 4 are aware of the situation and the more you complain, the higher the chance there is for some alterations of the live feed.

OK I can understand why Channel 4 would be happy with Celeb BB, wasn't great for BB but still got better than average figures and is cheaper than most stuff. But if they want to bring it back but can't why don't they just replace E4+1 if they aren't to look at raw figures instead of contracts (I'm assuming its about 12005)?
