I suppose the "chosen few" would survive in their underground bunkers. It would depend on the extent of the damage caused to the planet. It would affect all kinds of life, even vegetation. Plants, animals etc if not killed would become contaminated. The food would quickly run out.

Officially, only a few countries still have nuclear capabilities, so its not like the cold war where the threat was very real. I know its only hypothetical but I honestly dont think this will ever happen. Those weapons are SO destructive that just the threat of having them is enough to prevent anyone from actually using them.

Of course Life goes On.
As not every Zone gets the Top Impact.
But for example
if a Nuke went off in a Van in London
Scotland would become a Republic,
New Labour would be gone.
I would move to Scotland
as the Yanks would take over & run England.

No harm in talking about it
as it may not happen in our lifetime,
but if it does at least you will get some ideas.

England would probably have to become dependant on other nations as it is a small island

No Manchester would not be a big Enough impact.
A Nuke in a Van
can park in Central London
when it goes off you find no trace.
Thats why the Yanks would take over England
as they would not know for sure who did it, and worry about their nation.
So I would Move
to the Republic Of Scotland
which does not need Yanks helping them.

If that happened to London would it effect Manchester?
Would I die?
I think if they dropped alover the world, it's not likely that a lot of people would survive.

How far would a nuke travel if it went off in London? Would it reach Portsmouth?

If I am honest the chance of it happening are becoming stronger and stronger. World War 3 doesn't sound as ridiculous as it used too. With North Korea becoming so insanely scary, the idea isn't impossible now.

I wonder how a Fire storm would affect the US of A?

Lets not forget if this pretend nuke went off in London then the fall out of it could affect the whole country depending on the wind at the time, fall out can travel for many miles and polute everything in its path.
I live in the north east and I would be VERY scared if a nuke went off in London.

If I were to survive it probably would be hard to find other live humans.
You would run out of food, water pipes would be burst, no where to live etc.
I think you would eventually become mentally insane.

No you would be taken under a New Control
to breed the New Age.
And the Republic Of Scotland
lets the young in to help the old population.

It would be a return to the dark ages though, will the internet probably being brought down, meaning a lot of information needed would be lost in the chaos

Yes No Internet
But special Battery Military Phones
will be used to control the order.
Of course I would move on up to the safer
Republic Of Scotland
which would not be like your area under Yank Control.

hehe, I kinda like this hypothesis you got going
Sure, yeah, there would be phones, but we have become too dependant on the digital world, so it would take a long time to get used to a world without digital communications

Have fun here... I mean, inform yourself here.

Choose your city.
Choose your bomb.
Nuke it.
I think if just one nuclear bomb dropped, say in London, all hell would then break loose. I think there would be survivors in the epicentre of the explosion, who would be much like the Japanese hibakusha who survived Hiroshima and Nagasaki; the lowest social class, compensated by the Government but avoided because of their weird appearance etc. Birmingham would probably become the capital city, or possibly Manchester, because London would become uninhabitable. I think if London did get nuked, the UK would retaliate/the UN would prevent us from retaliating and heavily sanction whoever committed the nuking. It would be political mayhem.

Return to the dark ages!!!!!!Problem is some countries are STILL in the dark ages and that is why it is becoming more and more likely that some sort of nuclear excahange will happen sooner rather than later.......
Iran ruled by religious loonacy who think they will go to paradise would not hesitate in using a nulear attack on it's percieved enemies.....
North Korea ruled by war macine maniacs another flash point of nuclear activity.....

If London went the Yanks would take control
And the UN would be closed
over security reasons.
