EXCLUSIVE With news that St. Lucia officials want to halt Amy Winehouse from settling in her Caribbean hideaway for good, US superstar R Kelly has stepped forward to offer the floundering singer an unlikely career lifeline across America.

The controversial R'n'B star exclusively extended his duet offer to Wino as he became the latest high profile American superstar to discover Metro.co.uk is the only place to call.

Following in the footsteps of the Lohans, Christina Aguilera and Kim Kardashian's, the Ignition chart topper got in touch as he swung through London on his way to Africa to perform at the ThisDay Music Festival 2009 presented by ARISE Magazine.

From Digital Spy-

R Kelly has admitted that he is eager to record a duet with Amy Winehouse.

The 'Ignition' singer, who was cleared of child porn charges last year, revealed that he is a big fan of Winehouse's material.

"Amy Winehouse. 'Rehab'. I love that song," he told Metro.

"I'd definitely love to work with Amy Winehouse. I love the 'Rehab' song. She has balls to do that. I love that. I love that she kept it real and I would love to do a song with her."

Kelly's last studio album Double Up was released in May 2007, while the twenty-third instalment of the star's hip-opera Trapped In The Closet is expected later this summer.

Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo recently admitted that R Kelly's 'I Believe I Can Fly' was "without doubt" his favourite song of all time.

I am not sure how such a collaboration would turn out? She has had so many offers though. I am not sure if she will ever record again from the way things have been going.

I think he'll probably just end up producing (or writing) one of her songs. Not sure how a duet would turn out.
