New trio Dolly Rockers have yet to release their first single but have generated a fair amount of press following Radio One's enthusiasm for one of their tracks. The girl band seem determined to tear up the rule book by presenting themselves as brash, witty and chaotic in the face of our otherwise impeccably-styled and choreographed lady bands. So it was probably to be expected that in an interview with The Times they expressed certain 'reservations' about fellow females The Saturdays, saying: "They could have been five completely different girls and nobody would have given a s***," and rubbing salt into the wound by declaring: "If the Saturdays joined our band, they'd be ripped to pieces." As is fast becoming the traditional route, Rochelle Saturday responded via Twitter with the excellent riposte: "Dolly Trotters don't like us but use us for the press... wow... times are hard! Anyway must dash, have a sold-out tour to prepare for!" But while some may feel it's a little early in their career to be making enemies, we reckon the gobby Dolly Rockers might be just what the overly-media-trained and polite pop world needs right now.
