I have been instructed to back off. Our conflicting agendas clearly will never have consensus. Am now tasked simply to "observe and report", to only post anything he considers worthy.

We have realized that attempting to meddle with the die-hard fans opinions simply is not an effective strategy. We had attempted to shape opinion, but only achieved to alienate it.

Well, that's the problem working for a millionaire, isn't it? You're under the orders of someone whose detachment from reality is probably terminal. They all think they can use their money to "shape opinion", and the only result is to turn themselves into objects of satire. And you can expect all his brainwaves in areas like this to be equally fatuous. But, despite the terrible impression created on this forum about Karly, I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt. And I would say that the less she is associated in people's minds with someone like that, the better for her. So just vanishing is by far your best idea.

I don't think there's a problem with trying to shape fan opinion. The problem is in the cack-handed way that you tried to do it. The strategy isn't an ineffective one, it's just that you're incompetent when it comes to executing it.

Check karlyashworth's posting history. Check other BB sites for posters with the same name. They've been relentlessly spamming lots of forums with links to stories about how much of a bitch Karly is and calling other posters "*******" as part of a pre-planned PR campaign.

karlyashworth now seems to be surprised that this didn't have a positive effect.

I think GeorgeOrwell that there is a forum that Karly posted on a year ago that has nothing to do with forum member karlyashworth, which is were she appeared to be a troll on the forum.

The other thing is that karylashworth (forum member) seems to be based in the States, I'm guessing NY and I have to wonder if they have done much PR stuff in the UK before as lets face it, as a nation we are a cyncial bunch of people, that like a good moan as much as we like a good cup of tea (I don't like tea, but I do like a good moan, if you don't like to moan, i'll bet you like tea).

I used to write for some American punk fanzines, and I was always getting in trouble with my sense of humour that also seems to get lost in translation.

Anyway, I need to roll up, need to chill a bit more. Stressy night at work, lol.

I know that this karlyashworth isn't the actual Karly Ashworth. She's in the house. This guy is supposed to be her PR guy and runs her site.

He's been spamming lots of boards with links to newspaper stories about Karly behaving in a vile way and has been getting into arguments with other forum members. Check his posting history. As an example there's a thread on here that's pretty much lots of people having one, long protracted argument with him. He calls someone a ******, declares himself the winner of the thread several times over and insists that anyone who doesn't agree with him should stop posting. He even insists that one member delete their account for disagreeing with him. It's like playing ForumWarz only funnier. This isn't the only forum on which he's behaved like this either.

For some strange reason this strategy hasn't endeared Karly or him to people. I can't imagine why.
