Does anyone on here watch it? I've heard good things about it, but I don't want to watch it and it's shiit LOL

I watched the pilot episode a few nights ago. It's very offbeat, and there are lots of random sex scenes that serve no purpose, and start from the off.

The idea is good, the setting is different (New Orleans post-Katrina), the titles are great and the theme song is fantastic, and there is some interesting social commentry. On top of that the interplay between some of the minor cast is great, although some are so wierd you might find it hard to like them. Most aren't established properly, and there is no real story being set up, aside from the main realtionship between the main character (forget her name) and a vampire. It's good enough though, to warrant you to watch at least another few episodes to see how it devlopes, as the idea, as I said, is very interesting.

I heard most people didn't get hooked untill the seventh episode, so I will watch up untill then, but so far it doesn't rival the other great American shows.

If you are going to watch any series this summer, make it Battlestar Galactica. One of the best cult shows in recent years, and considered by some to be the greatest televison show ever made. I just watched the feature-length pilot episode (which is realeased seperately) and the scope is EPIC, the story gripping and the characters and story superb. Strongly recommend.

Other shows you might want to consider.

- 24
- Damages

All have much beeter pilots then True Blood so all of them will hook you from the start.

I completely agree with everything you said! I didn't really like the pilot as much as I thought I would.

I actually put the episode on when my friend was round, and when the hardcore vampire sex scenes started playing he must have thought I was some freak for watching it. :hugesmile: My dad's actually a fan of Battlestar Galactica and has all the DVD's, so that'll be a lot easier than downloading them all. Infact, he has DVD's for LOST and 24 too.

LOL I remember watching that sex scene, my family saw what I was watching and they could hear the moans coming from my headphone and as I was watching it on the computer it made it 100x worse.

Yes, I must say go and watch Battlestar Galactica NOW-seriously NOW. You will NOT be disapointed, amazing, amazing show- but Lost and 24 aren't bad choices either, you should watch all three :bigsmile:

Buy make sure you start off with the 2003 mini-series, which was made before the first season was greenlighted, and has now been released as a feature-length movie, but is still called a mini-series which is confusing. You should watch it first as it sets-ups a lot of story and character relationships. Also you might be a bit confused if you watch the first episode of Season One, and you see a "Previously on Battlestar Galactica..." bit.

I love this series, it's possibly my favourite new show so far this year. It's nothing like Twilight or anything like that since it's very adult. The pilot sets things up really I'd reccomend you watch the next few episodes and see what you think then as it gets stronger as it goes on.

I love this show, its fast becoming my favourite US show. Do watch it but also stick with it because it improves every episode throughout both season 1 and 2.

Lol it's brilliant though, if you just act on one of my reccomendations let it be this one. It's very addictive, the main problem with the pilot is that it just serves to introduce the characters nothing much happens but it gets very good from the second episode onwards.

I dont think so. I really didnt like season2 as much as season 1. But it was still pretty good. I just thought the storyline in season 2 lingered, and it seemed like the whole season couldve been done in 2 or 3 episodes imo.

Have already seen seasons 2 and 3 because I watch them the same time as they go out in America. Have both seasons 1 and 2 on DVD as well.

Season 2 was really good, mainly because you get to see more of Eric and his character is fantastic (plus it's Alex so yeah lol), it gets a bit carried away in some parts but it's still really really good.

Season 3 is brilliant, the best so far I think.

Tara is a vampire :( obviously I'm glad she survived because she's always been one of my favorite characters but I liked the fact that she was one of the only few normal humans on the show.

I'll probably get used to it as the series progresses but I don't like how nearly everyone on the show now is a supernatural.

True Blood is a good show, but you have to be open to all things supernatural! I preferred the first few seasons, this season is my least fave so far, but it will hopefully get a bit better as it goes on!

The Finale Aired last night in the US. Wow Season 6 should be interesting

Jason hits his head and starts to hallucinate seeing his parents and they're egging him on to kill vampires

Russell's Dead. Sookie and the Fae were trying to kill him with their powers and they failed. Eric came the rescue and staked him into goo.

Nora's no longer has the authority's nest mentality

Every member of the authority other than Nora is dead. Eric, Nora, Jason, Sookie, and Tara snuck in and Jason went on a Vampire killing spree killing the . they got Pam and Jessica out. The two remaining Chancellors were killed by Sam and Bill. Sam killed Rosalyn when he flew into her throat as a fly and shifted bad into a human. Bill staked Salome

Pam and Tara are now in love.

Shifters/Weres may have to come out. Luna skinwalked as Newlin (Who's still alive. after seeing Russell killed he ran off) and had to have a statement on live TV. In the middle Luna barfed and turned back into herself. and She got Emma back

Bill is the chosen one and drank Lillith's Blood. He died and then came back to live looking like Lillith.

Alcide's the new packmaster of Bon Tomps.

Andy is now the father of 4 half faes. He has to take care of them at least until they're adults.

The following was only available on the HBO Go version. Jason was tempted by his parents to kill everyone in the elevator as they were leaving. He snapped out of it at the last second and mentioned something about Waloo and Nora recognized the name.

This show's hiatus is way too long, you end up losing interest. I dont even remember how it ended, its been so long. Plus the quality and stories, have dipped every year. They need to make longer seasons, or spread them out more.

Anyways, I'll attempt watching it when it comes back, hopefully this season is better.

Definitely agree with this. With the series' being so short, they should do 2 a year I think.

Though it being back in June surprised me a bit. I thought with Sookie being pregnant...there might be a longer break between series'

The order was shorter this year, We'll be having two less eps because of Sookie's Pregnancy
