(ever wonder why the Channel4 forum was pulled due to the plethora of complaints over forum bullying?)

I have been reading through a number of different topics on this forum and it worries me how people at times can be so rude, and to a degree, a bully in some cases.

I was rather surprised at some of the nastiness I've seen on this forum. On the Karly smoking thread, someone was making very subjective, invalid points - in a sort of insensitive way - and he soon turned malicious once his ego was a bit bruised. He then became more vindictive and the personal insults came faster and quicker as he had no grammatical skills to communicate his feelings simply because he had a differing opinion.

Completely uncalled for and just plain nasty.

There are a number of people on here who are quite happy to misquote, deliberately misinterpret and generally cause dissention where there doesn't need to be any, merely to twist discussions to suit their own agendas.

All I can say is thank for continuing to report him and for all your support.
Don't put up with angry, depressed, miserable people bullying you.

Don't ever let it bother you if someone goes off on one. Plenty of weird messed up people out there. You only have to look at the Top 40 singles chart to see that lol!

I never saw that thread, but I really must say... despite a couple of bad apples, the people on this forum are generally nice and TiBB has a long way to go before it gets as bad as the C4 forums did, trust me.

GOOD! Thanks for the assurance. I have only just joined, and like the banter more than anything. I don't know why miserable people want to 'share' and spread their misery on a forum. They need to log off, walk away, calm down, get a life, then come back onto the forum!

Okay, I read this thread you were talking about, I understand the argument involved you and my only advice is you're better off going to the mods if you feel offended. I will be honest and say that I found it difficult to take your side in that argument as this so called "bully" was making valid points and you did nothing but dismiss everything he said and follow it up with spurious claims about the fact that you are qualified to know more about the effect of cannabis on people's health without displaying any of the requisite knowledge or spelling skills.

As a matter of fact, one of the mods 30stone did warn people about the argument getting too heated. Why on Earth you felt it necessary to make another thread about this is anybody's guess.

once again, a subjective point of view.

if it didn't bother you, and you've not been bullied, feel free to go onto another post.

in my book, calling people 'kids, morons, ignorant,' etc IS RUDE, vile and bullying. Just because potheads get riled up over the all the pseudo science posted online and the fact that they are LOSING a losing battle, bores me to death!

There's no such thing as 'forum bullying'. Everyone has CTRL and F4 on their keyboards.

Just because Americans USE different spelling rules, doesn't mean they can't spell.

btw, the others had horrendous spelling and couldn't even use contractions properly... something I'm now teaching my 7 year old nephew!

P.S. quit grabbing at straws when trying to undermine people. It's a weak and pathetic defense to point out!

cheers!!!!!!!

(i.e. pointing out spelling errors even when there are none... it's called American spelling).

I was on that thread. The pro-cannabis poster came across as a bit rude, but no worse than you. I'd call it 50-50. Try to be less preachy with your opinions. And there's really no need to start a whole new thread about some poster you've got into an argument with on some other thread. It's a waste of everybody's time, and just makes you look obsessive.

This is easily one of the most civilised forums I have been on... Lotsa good people on here.

I am 100% sure that C4 didnt close their forum due to any kind of bullying. It was always about their unwillingness to invest a bean into supporting this show.

if its on the internet, and only on the internet, it isnt bullying.

Unless you are really stupit you should be able to realise that people say things on the internet that they dont mean and wouldnt say in person.

These "bullies" are probarly 7 year old shrimps.

it is so easy to ignore it if it is only on the internet so stop being stupid, GROW UP and get some balls!!!

You made constant assumptions that I was a drug addict. You deserved every word of abuse you got. What were you expecting? I got riled up because I gave huge blocks of arguments and not once did you ever attempt to properly reply to any of them.

I am not a forum bully but I have absoloutely no problem dishing out abuse to people who act on forums like they are begging for it - and you were. Also, I would venture of words like 'idiot' and 'moron' bother you, you have no place on the internet full stop.

This is one of the calmest, decent forums I have ever been on. I have been to forums where most members of the young members who post here would be absoloutely eaten alive, not only by the members, but by the moderators.

Still, it's nice to see that you aimed an entire thread cloak & dagger style by me because you could not work your way around my arguments in the other thread.

I hope to god you never meet a real bully someday. The shock alone is going to kill you.

To the OP - I've seen the thread, I've read it all I iand even commented on it in the Lounge. I think it was six of one and half a dozen of the other. I think you need to climb off your high horse because you are just as guilty as the person you are accusing.

People get upset about something that happened on a forum?
