CRAIG'S dad attempted to get on Big Brother too after he found out his son had been picked.
Jonathan, 40 - proud that gay hairdresser Craig was making a bid for stardom - tried to persuade producers to let him into the house.
But after thinking hard about it, Big Brother bosses and 20-year-old Craig decided it probably wasn't a good idea. Craig's mum Yvette, 42, from Cromer, Norfolk, told friends: "Jonathan thought it was great Craig had applied.
"But he thought it would be great if he went in too - having a father and son together in the house.
"Craig thought about it and spoke to the makers but after some consideration it was thought best for Craig to go it alone.
"I think Craig was quite relieved. At first he thought it might be fun but the more he thought about it, the more he thought it wouldn't be such a great idea.
"Part of the whole dynamic is of a load of strangers coming together. So although having a father and son would be completely different - it might be counter-productive in some ways.
"And Jonathan isn't bothered Craig didn't want him to go in with him. He is just delighted Craig made it into the house. He will be rooting for him all the way."
Craig, who has his own hairdressing salon in Sheringham, loves gossip.
One friend said: "He'll want to know exactly what everyone is up to - but his bubbly, friendly personality should mean that he is at the heart of things.
"He's very sociable and can get on with most people - I wouldn't expect him to provoke any big arguments.
"He loves his designer clothes and music and going out and, although he's only 20, he is very confident. He has a strong chance of going all the way."
